BlueChinchillaEatingDorito got a reaction from Omon_Ra in Finding out whether it's the port or the cable that's broken.
Unless whoever installed the network drop messed up when crimping the twisted strands to the plate, it's pretty rare for a failure in the plate.
You can get cable testers which will help you verify both continuity and that the stands were crimped in the right order. If even one of the twisted pairs is in the wrong order, it will cause a situation where there's no network connection.

Warranty it. That's why you have it. No point trying to pull out all the stops in trying to fix it yourself. You're most likely going to break something even more, giving MSI even more reason to deny your claim and permanently void your warranty.
It takes one slip-up to royally screw things up when it comes to repairing monitors. Which is why it's often not worth it, outside of the high cost of replacement panels.

BlueChinchillaEatingDorito got a reaction from asheenlevrai in Whatsapp - how to go back and forth between android and iOS
Yep since Whatsapps stores the backups in completely different services for Android and iOS. Don't quote me on this, but it's likely a limitation made by Google and Apple respectively.

BlueChinchillaEatingDorito got a reaction from Mark Kaine in Manifest v3 arrives soon, time to ditch Chrome and install Firefox
The same reason why people in the mid to late 2000s still used Internet Explorer. If it works, it's just a hassle to switch to something different even if there is no actual gardenwalling to prevent people from doing so.
Once Chrome and Chromium in general pisses people off enough, then we'll see another shift in market leader much like what happened with Internet Explorer.

It's possible... but it's a hassle. The target device needs to be reset to factory settings as it uses the migration option you typically find when setting up a new Android or iPhone. If you're using a Samsung device, you can use Smart Switch without doing a factory reset.

Microsoft support does not remote into your pc, you’ve been scammed, I highly advise you get on any different system and start securing any accounts you ever had logged into that pc.

BlueChinchillaEatingDorito got a reaction from venomtail in Is 20 yr old gpu better than modern igpu?
I mean a 20-year-old card, we're talking mid-late 2000s. You'd be lucky if the damn thing even outputted to 1080P to be honest. And even then, it'll probably struggle just doing that.

You can still buy these Zalman coolers new, or rather new old stock as evident by the dust on the box…
No idea how it survived shipping too, it was literally shipped in this box, wasn’t even taped closed…
Bought this for my 775 system, anything will be better than the stock cooler!

BlueChinchillaEatingDorito got a reaction from Mark Kaine in Getting 9 year old to play games other than Roblox?
I think you got it framed wrong here. It's about creating positive father and son/daughter experiences for them, not mainly for you. That's how you remembered the good times with your father. But what you're trying to do with your kids, is the opposite to that.

All of these links on the bottom just bring you to the top of the page.
Prices are missing on the main page.
Slogan is "Never Pay for an Office Subscription Again", then tries to sell you subscriptions.
Screw BBB, we have "No Spyware", "Verified Quality FinancesOnline.com", "100% clean Download", and "Good Software". All very convincing badges.
The whole thing screams lazy and classic scam.
If your community members were able to pick up this many red flags in a matter of minutes, perhaps a review of processes is in order. Just the whole premise of the business does not make sense, it contradicts itself. They're promising people the idea of not being tied to subscriptions (such as Office 365 and G-Suite), by selling them subscriptions to their product. In this particular instance, it feels like the community was made the first line of defense.

BlueChinchillaEatingDorito reacted to kirashi in Cheap windows key that isn't illegal or a scam?
Grey market key sites that don't abide by Microsoft's End User License Agreement (EULA) or that don't have a reseller agreement may be selling keys acquired through illicit means. While the keys might be legit, they may have been purchased from a company's IT staff member looking to sell "extra" keys for quick cash or from an official source using a stolen credit card.
Since there's no way to verify the legitimacy of where these keys are acquired, it's recommended to only purchase Windows from officially licensed resellers, like Newegg, Amazon, Memory Express, Canada Computers, Micro Center, etc. to ensure you're not accidentally contributing to what might be an illegitimate activity used to acquire a legitimate software license key.

Some telltale signs are when the BSODs are all graphics driver related, or there are consistent artifacts on screen.
