  1. so I use Google play almost exclusively to listen to all my music but lately I've gotten curious about lossless audio formats such as .FLAC and .WAV. does google play allow you to download uncompressed versions of your songs? if not is there a legal way for me to download lossless music files from my library without having to buy them again? im expecting to receive a pair of ath-m50x headphones in the next week and considering a fiio X1 music player. otherwise i'll be listening through a OnePlus 2.
  2. a few days ago i was browsing the web, gaming, and even did some live streaming. normal pc gaming stuff. but just 2 days ago windows had an update that needed to be installed. so i restarted my pc assuming all would be well. turns out my pc wont boot past the windows 7 loading screen and eventually my monitor gives me the "no signal" prompt. I'm running windows off a 2TB wd caviar black drive which has been making these screeching sounds when ever i booted up or loaded a game before my recent issue. first time i noticed was about 2 or so weeks before the issue. after the monitor loses signal with my pc the hard drive starts humming in a lower but endlessly repetitive pattern. the drive will make a low hum for about a couple seconds and speed up for another second and slow back down . this pattern will continue until i turn off the pc and rebooting did nothing to help. i tried entering safe mode with networking but it crashed on that loading screen as well. its not an issue with my gpu because windows doesn't even load. i didn't get that chime. im pretty sure its the caviar black drive but i only had it for a month. i have a second 1TB Toshiba drive but there aren't any important files on it that would prevent windows from working if it where damaged. any help would be appreciated.
  3. Today is not a good day for me. First geforce experience turns out to be broken and now the rest of my PC seems to be falling a part one way or another. To start i've been getting blue screens about 1-3 times a week with no idea where to post the reports and now some of my files and programs just close after showing disk errors! skype bugs out and shows a disk error then a prompt comes up saying skype has to close. right after that origin starts showing errors saying some folder could not be located. the scariest encounter is when im done dealing with those two programs and try to open windows explorer to browse files im presented with a notification saying "this folder can not be found because it has been deleted or moved some where else would you like to remove this thumbnail?" at which point im convinced one of my 3 drives are crapping out. i have a crucial mx100 512gb SSD (almost full) ssd a 2tb WD caviar black drive (not even close to full) and a standard 1tb Toshiba hard drive. (which i use mainly for media storage and i dont have any programs in stalled on it. some one please help! is this a storrage prblem? what programs can i use to pin point the issue?
  4. you also need geforce experience for DSR which i prefer to use when playing borderlands2 and the pre-sequel (which i play a lot of)
  5. so i recently tried to update my drivers but when ever i attempted to launch geforce experience i got the fallowing error "geforce experience encountered an error and must close." i looked through forums to get some help. some users said to uninstall and re-install tried that but got an error and and a few minutes later my PC blue-screened. then i tried re-installing with out removing the old driver which worked but i'm still getting the error mentioned above when ever i try to open geforce experience.. Kinda freaking out right now and wandering if my graphics card might be damaged.
  6. Question to any Audio Technica at2020 owners. Is it normal to have to set the microphone volume extremely low? i have the volume at 6/100 in Windows sound and 10/100 on Mirillis Action screen recorder. Anything higher is unpleasantly loud, gain heavy and contains a lot of popping. (Yes i'm using a pop filter)
  7. i recently upgraded my gaming PC's graphics card as well as the case. after i upgraded the case and restoring my OS to factory settings, these problems started happening.. every now and then my PC will randomly restart with out properly shutting down. the pc will be running like usual then it suddenly just shuts off and turns back on. this only happens every few days but the fact that its happening at all is conserning. the issues don't seem to be caused by any specific game or application. i could play any game for hours and have it be fine but most of the time these random reboots happen when my pc is just running the desk top here is the most recent log from event viewer: here are my current system specs -windows 7 pro 64bit -intel core i7 4790 -cooler master hyper tx3 -zotac gtx 970 -16gb adata xpgv2 1866mhz -gigabyte GA Z97X-SLI motherboard -corsair carbide 200r - cooler master 700w power supply (don't know the exact model and i couldn't find an 80+ rating on on the PSU) -1tb wb blue (i will also be getting a caviar black in a few days.) 4 case fans (2 intake & 2 exaust)
  8. im in the midst of rebuilding my gaming pc i just ordered a gtx 970, a corsair carbide 200r and will be getting a 240gb kingston v300 ssd where i will install my editing software as well as my most loved steam games and thats kinda where my question lies. obviously i wont be able to install my entire steam library on a 240gb ssd. so i wanted to know if there was a way to install my less valued games on my normal old hard drive as well as install my higher valued games on an ssd using the same computer? i thought i saw a video discussing this on the NCIX or LTT youtube channels but the videos i did find didn't really answer my question directly. so is what im asking possible? if so then how would i go about doing it?
  9. in an earlier post i have mentioned investing in a new pair of headphones. since i am looking forward to a mod mic and have decided i needed a good replacement for my current 12 dollar gaming mouse more then a replacement for some headphones that work fine. i have made those my priority and put the headphones aside to invest in some other time. i currently have a pair of ath m20x headphones and i like them. a little cheap in terms of build quality but my biggest gripe i have is the pleather ear pads. they irritate and suffocate my ears making it unbearable to use these things for more then 1 or 2 hours at a time. not to mention most of the ear pads i could find on amazon where either for the m40x and m50x or just pleather replacements and cost almost as much as the headphones them selves! is there some kind of generic soft ear pad replacement option? maybe some kind of DIY alternative? will my ears have to suffer until I'm able to invest in a new set of headphones? why do pleather ear pads exist? any help is appreciated :-) thanks in advance
  10. so i think i have made my choice. im gonna go for the HD668Bs' by superlux. i would have looked at the k240's paired with an amp if i wasn't also planning to get an AntLion mod mic. but since i am, im gonna go for the HD668b. otherwise i would be spending almost $200 which is a bit over meh budget. thanks guys for the help :-) also lauon. your pic is badass and it made my day .
  11. i may have been thinking about microphone amps... idk though.
  12. maybe. but Lauen. suggested that k240's may need some extra amprage get the most out of them. and IF thats true then there must be a difference between them and the 668B's in terms of quality.
  13. whats the bare minimum one should pay for a headphone amp? i know there are some low price amps but i heard some where that anything below $100 isn't worth it or something.. maybe i'm thinking of a microphone amp. also i love your profile pic
  14. the cups seem significantly larger then what i currently have and i was thinking of pairing them with some softer 3rd party ear pads. as for the comparison yes they do look similar but that doesn't always mean they sounds the same. thanks for the input though :-)
