Mick Naughty got a reaction from jaslion in Planning a glass water cooling loop, how will I fit the tube in the below situation?
Prolly need to slide the rad in when connecting the line on both ends.
Fitting type will matter as awell, if you are doing double oring taller fittings. And can have a shorter line to help clearance.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Hi P in Does my PSU support the connection of 3x PCIe 8-pin to power the new GPU cards?
It can connect to it, assuming you mean a third party card with triple connections or adapter cable. Doesn't mean it meets the wattage requirements. So it will come down to the card and the rest of the system.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Somerandomtechyboi in i7 4790k + antryx xtreme x-200 atx case + CM hyper h411r will work?
Given the gpu paired with it, I'm sure it would be just fine. Not like its gonna be pushing much overall.
But the age of the tim on the cpu will be a large factor. So if temps dont fall in line, I'd look at delidding.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Hi P in Is it worth to buy a custom 8 Pin EPS cable?
Ive got a few extensions brands, can barely see the 8+4 in any of my builds but it as the kit comes with it all. Being black it doesnt bother me to use it or not. If going colored, I'd get it just incase you notice more than you think and can easily look into your case. And having all matching cables is worth it, especially getting a kit.

Im using a Modmymods and a Micro Connector adapters on my rig.
But they are only a 6x2 cable. Didnt find a better one. But works all the same on my 3090.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from MBisFrenchy in Ups suggestions to deal with grounding issues - voltage sag in old apartment?
A normal volt meter, they make a few versions that are made to stick in outlets easier. I tend to do it at the actual meter which would be best case scenario, though I'm sure isnt practical for everyone.

Weird how the op clearly said without sli and the linus parrots come flying in saying how its dead.
We get it, you've never used sli before and even if you did, you didnt know what you were doing.

Thats what the manual states. Been that way for over a decade for their good boards.

I dont daisy chain. Sucks that recent psu's even offer that. Preferred my older ones that only had single 6+2's.
I run my 3090fe with dual 6pins on an 850 psu, no issues so far.

So you keep saying everything is good but, havent seen any data on that. Gpu and cpu use per core. What is the cpu running at while gaming? Clock and temp after an extended period.
Does it do it on benchmarks as well?

Mick Naughty got a reaction from HOOTSMON in Horizontal pump/res combi mounting. Safe?
Works the exact same as vertical. Only problem is filling the loop unless you set the case in a way that the pump is vertical while bleeding, which you should.
If not, once the fluid level drops near half you have to fill the res back up so it doesnt go below the inlet.

Well there’s nothing on the backplate itself.
but yes if the card shares the same board as the 3090, you can get an active backplate. But that’s more for memory temps.

Being an open market and you can charge what you want. As is the case everyday.

Given a quick glance, I'd say the cpu isnt gonna be oc'ing well. But at the same time, the rest of the rig may not be able to keep up either. Ran higher end asus boards with mine and should be going for cheap just may not be alot in the area. If you havent got the cpu already, I'd save some money and get a non k variant or even a 4770.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Dogost in How to tell If my graphic card heating is aluminum ?
You sure it isnt the case and poor airflow? Doubt the card itself is to blame for overheating, assuming you know what temp it needs to hit for that to actually happen.

Cards that use the same pcb would any reference cooler for the most part. So that would be a 980ti, so if you want dual fan, get an evga acx 3.0 cooler. Or the normal blower coolers.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Dedayog in Is my 10700k Still Strong enough for future games or should i upgrade to the 12700k ?
Its running with a 3090. Its slightly oc'ed. Seems like a poor chip as I dont care much about running it at high voltage and sitting around 75c just to game. My 8700k didnt handle the 1080ti. Need headroom to stream or record.

Seems fine as it. But thats what I say about all of my loops too. Then it comes time to drain it. Another reason I prefer cross flow rads, being able to build the loop in a circle makes draining a breeze with less planning overall.

I'm in the same boat with my 9900k. Its enough, but i wouldn't want to keep it for more years. Worried it wont even handle the next COD. Which will be the decider if I upgrade asap or not.

Thats every gpu for over a decade. Thats how the boost works. The specs manufacture's use is guarantee. Unless they are bstock, most will only run at rated and not boost any further.
