Think you will be alright. Friend has the same cpu with a 1080 and cpu usage is quite low compared to my stuff. 1080ti isn’t much more than a 1080 performance wise.

Well did you end up making the other cars the primary?
Break the sli chain, move the monitor to the other card. Restart and apply sli again.

Or keep it on the bottom card, prolly better off given the load.

    Because water blocks aren’t free.
His card is outdated and could be out of warranty assuming it has one.
Still an upgrade in several ways. So if the end user wants those then it’s justified.

I’d do it. Without a doubt. Especially if you’re using an air cooled system.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Aimi in 2060 vs 1080
Everyone would recommend the new architecture, warranty and efficiency. Regardless of how they perform.

I’m quite the opposite. I’d rather pick up a  1080.

like I got a 1080ti instead of a 2070. I don’t want the performance hit of rtx right now.

Yea just sounds like typical software and cooler solution issues.
Mine ran quite hot but had it overclocked.

Feels like one. But with your assurance it must be.

Get a stronger card and not worry about either of those gimmicks.

You can get the monitor and hope it bandaids the issue. Won’t last much longer. Need a real cpu to keep up with modern cards.
Only reason I sold my 4790k. Cod and bf games needed more.
New cpu gave me the option to stay at 1080p and enjoy more frames.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from JabroniBaloney in When to upgrade GTX 1080 (suggestions)
I couldn’t use a 1080 on any current or last gen games with a 1440p monitor. Even for fun, not when it’s that taxing.
If you want fancy ray tracing you should have already make the jump or wait for the next gen and hope they are affordable or grab a first gen rtx card.

If I know it works I just water cooler it. You can post with just blocks on. No issues what so ever. Wouldn’t wast time putting tubes and water in for just a post.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from RollinLower in question about watercooling
Don’t understand the question, you mean if knowing about it would matter when it comes to doing it?
Or if it matters to pc performance?
    Clear answer to both really.
I didn’t know anything but I watched videos about it. Real videos, not like the stuff Jay was making at the time. Actual professionals and I’m a visual learner.
You are either about it or not, someone telling you to do it on a forum shouldn’t be a large factor.

If it does come time for a cpu, a psu would prolly be needed.
Running a 4770k and 1060 myself and it’s pretty good for what it is, comes down to the games though.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from xg32 in Worth Buying now 2080ti?!
New stuff is always coming out. If that’s the mindset, never get anything new. Just keep waiting for the next thing. If I cared about gaming like I used to, I would have got the 2080ti when it came out. Even considering a super now. But I would have been making a new rig twice if I did.

Can’t say I notice screen tearing. But I have high frames and high refresh. Can’t even notice when it’s on. Wouldn’t go out of my way to pay for it.

Things done. I’d use it for the parts you bought it for. Unless you have a spare oven to try and bake it.
