Mick Naughty got a reaction from Tristerin in Pump connected to molex, 4 pin to Fan header?
Well Ive had pumps that do both, so I cant say what to do. without seeing it. Mine only get power from molex. So I don't have a choice. Thus plugging the "4pin" in gives me control and speed for the pump. So without it, it runs at 100% supposedly.

Doubt an overclock is gonna help. Given how the card runs compared to any of the cards above it.

I just max out the power and voltage and go from there. That’s enough to let the card sit at 2000hz

Yea, map and skins do take up space. Guess even when they give you all for free people will still complain.

Coolant temp being too high can damage blocks. Also some prefer to set fan speeds based of it as it moves a lot slower and more consistent compared to cpu which never is comparatively.
Also a probe like that can be used for just ambient case temps which some care about as well.
There is no better if its a personnel choice. Simply how some would prefer their rig be controlled.

Both is my sig were less than that. I’m sure sure more, newer models can be had.

Run a unigine benchmark. If it works and the system crashes when you have a cpu and gpu load then the psu isn’t enough.

Let me get that Asus board. Won’t buy anything else myself. Best there is.

Could just get the 2k versions. Or a regular version if they offer it in black now.
going above 1500 isn’t gonna do much for you.

Guess you haven’t seen many cards. But it’s fine for bad profiles. This the plastic blower? Depending on the card you can swap to other stock coolers and improve that quite a bit if you actually want to.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Blower gpus are cool in I want to turn my open air gpu into a blower gpu. How do I do that?
Depends on the card. I put a fe cooler on my 1060ssc. Then put the acx cooler on the 1080sc. Quite easy as they are all reference stuff.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from BarackOBatman in Can you cool a pc with the cooler of a car engine?
I’d be more concerned with how you are gonna connect it. Would need to be hardline or automotive tubing. Same with the blocks. There’d be so much heat you’d be better off keeping it air cooled.
Wouldn’t be practical in one bit.

Can’t say there would be a benefit not knowing what you do with it.
I overclock mine simply for how high the usage is and should have got amd stuff.
I hope it helps compared to running at stock.
I did the same as mentioned. I let the board auto overclock to see where it would go then did a manual of 50x and 1.35.

Flow is a big factor. Even for small loops. Most aio’s have small and/or thin rads. Ek has a few with bigger ones.
Aio’s only exist for simplicity and looks combined.
I prefer to be more involved with the building of my rigs so custom is always the way to go. Also prefer to beat temp to noise ratio which neither air or an aio will come close to.

Finally took the grinder to one of my 540’s and make a hole for another 280 rad. Been wanting to do this for years but wanted another case first. Worked out well without me needing to make a false floor with abs which was the original plan.
Contemplating doing it to the other rig.
Also waiting on the new custom price of tempered glass to replace the aged acrylic.

Matx is gonna be the biggest factor.
Assuming the cards will be single slot, might be able to get away with it.

I use a hub. Having power fans means I need more power. Even at low speeds. I don’t have high amp headers. So I either use a hub or a powered splitter.

Just installed my second Corsair 280. Was running one with an ek 280 and 140.
Really like how thin they are and readily available unlike any 140 series stuff at a microcenter.
Seem to perform well, logo is a bad implementation but not something Corsair alway puts at the top of their priorities.

I always suggest it. Beats spending the same for a weaker card especially if we consider that a high price.
