Mick Naughty got a reaction from dual290x in Custom Water Loop Filter Screen
The hose I buy is full of shit and takes time to flush out.
but I have room to hide a large filter so I use a standard 3/8id fuel filter and put it in the back. Try to limit the restriction for mine given how much stuff it has.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Nanook in Grounding Mixed Metal Loops
Well the rads are already attached to the chassis, and so is the psu. So when you plug it into the wall and ground the entire system, isn’t that the same goal? Or are you trying to add a 1/0 cable to a pc and connect it to a ground spike?

Mick Naughty got a reaction from j1mgg in How do you achieve 200+FPS, high settings, 1080p, on games like warzone?
Most of everything is on high or off. My fps doesnt increase if I turn settings down anyway. Card is stock as they dont overclock well and even if it did that will only yield a few fps increase.

I use a 1080ti on multiplayer and get those frames.
So I’d get a better card than that.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Nanook in Eliminating Preheating from Front Intake Rad
I don’t use use rads on the front if I can avoid it. Temps are much better for the components that don’t have blocks on them.
Ram, plx, chipsets and m.2’s in my case all have better temps doing so. Some people only think about the cpu and gpu and half the time it’s comparing using an aio on the cpu and open air cooler on the gpu.
Do it right and just have the rad as exhaust and have fresh air for the entire build.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Tristerin in Picking a Waterblock, Afraid of Getting It Wrong
Vertically mounting, I think the heat killer block is the best looking. But I always prefer a more industrial look compared to something the Corsair block.
But if I wanted it to match, like I always do I’d just get theirs. Shouldn’t be an issue if you apply proper water cooling practices.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Consul in i7 8700k with a 3080?
Quite vague. It depends on the game.
Ive had one game peg all cores at 100 and another only peg 1 at 100.
1440 helps but given how much better the new cards are than my old 1080, I’d expect the same potential.
But for me, hitting 100% and causing a stutter is the biggest problem. Or using that same old gpu on my older cpu and drastically reducing frames.
So yes there’s a possibility of something.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from mousesnob in Sand down tubing thickness
Still more than enough. I’d trust them more than sanding down every connection

Mick Naughty got a reaction from BTGbullseye in RTX 3080 founders edition possible cooling problem
No different from the last card you were running or traditional card layouts. If anything this one will be better than those.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from BTGbullseye in I'm planning on pre-ordering a 3080 for my 4790k system...
It was already hindered with a 1080.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from maizenblue in I'm planning on pre-ordering a 3080 for my 4790k system...
Given the games I play and how they perform, I couldn’t use any card within the past 5 years with that cpu.
I could but I’d rather not have such hindered performance.
I may get a 3070 as that’s prolly gonna push the limit of my current cpu.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from BTGbullseye in What do you think of 3080FE cooler?
As long as it’s easier to take apart I’ll get it or any of the other companies that may use a reference board.
Blocks and back plates are cheaper and more readily available, so that’s my go to.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from narrdarr in High airflow pwm case fans?
I’m sure you’ll be happy with them. Especially for the price. I’d like to see if they have a higher tier of them. I’d like to try another fan for my next rig.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Tristerin in What's the point of dual loop?
Not sure what dual loops and 89 degrees have to do with each other.
Maybe I like to swap my cards before my cpu, which was common when cpu's could actually keep up with the next gen card.
Heat isolation, thus potentially less noise depending on system setup.
Looks and maintenance being another reason. Why not do it?

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Frederik2000 in One fan header for the pump and to fans
Buy a splitter, powered splitter or a fan hub.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from BotDamian in GPU for CoD MW (MP/WARZONE) at 1440p 144hz
Everyone is gonna say to wait. But the new game will be out by then, so that’s pretty dumb.
Just get a 2080s or equivalent and be happy with the game now instead of playing the waiting game.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Stahlmann in Any reason to use iGPU on a 9900K
I use it as I like to have a second monitor plugged into my rig and my card only has one hdmi port and I need it for screen mirroring. Pretty much the only reason I do it.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from EvilVir in Clear soft tubing staying clear for 24 hours, then turns milky
Could just get matte tube and never worry about color again.
-
Mick Naughty got a reaction from mrkornegay in M.2 and Sata SSD
I’m doing the same. Took my other nvme out for an ssd.
Only wanted to get one to try it and can’t go bigger with a single one without reinstalling everything again. Which is what I prefer. One for os one for games.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Vishera in Diagnosing performance issues in COD Warzone and other possibilities
Mines performs exactly how I’d expect it to. Must be a game issue if it’s only effecting war zone. Or does multi player would be effected

Mick Naughty got a reaction from Tieox in Discounted 2080 Super or wait for 3x series with non blower designs?
I’d get a cheap 2080s before I bought the new cards. Wouldn’t get anything aside from fe stuff though, this gen or next.

Mick Naughty got a reaction from crystal6tak in Delid then relid with LM. Should I use Conductonaut or Kryonaut between heatsink and IHS? (NH-D15, 4790k)
I only use lm on the substrate. So cant say what the difference is but that alone was enough for me. Never delided my 4790k, but I did it to the 4770k as i assume an unmodded cpu would sell better.
Great temp drop but even replacing the old tim is an improvement.
I wonna keep my blocks for awhile so i dont put tim on the cooler side for regular use.
