Windows Explorer does not open or run, and there is also nothing on the taskbar. Observing the Task Manager, the explorer.exe process will show up and disappear again except the one instance keeping the taskbar and desktop running. If I have any Control Panel things running, trying to open an explorer window will crash those. I'm currently running Windows 8 Pro on that machine. I suspected it might be Universal Shield going crazy but after I uninstalled that the problem still persisted. Running ' sfc /scannow ' doesn't do anything as well as going into Safe Mode.

Anyone have some suggestions for an alternative to Nokia Maps or Nokia Drive on Android? I can't seem to get Google Maps to work the way I want (i.e. just driving around with my location and speed shown like a minimap) I still have my trusty Nokia N8 for navigation but it's a bit annoying to carry two smartphones everywhere. PS. Nokia Drive has a "just drive" mode that functions like a minimap, speedo, and odometer

I just reinstalled the latest graphics driver in case it got corrupted somehow. I'm getting my normal temps. I suspect that my Windows installation might be at faul so I'm not conducting an experiment. I will be using the HDD from my netbook for a few days and I'll be watching for the same symptoms. Note: I don't think I'd be able to upload screenshots of the glitching if the GPU was the problem or maybe I could but I don't OC my GPU anymore. Also, the images seem to normalise when I press Ctrl + F5.

It certainly feels secure. Also, browsing tends to stress out the CPU to about 15-30% because Firefox has about 1500 tabs (not all active).

While just browsing the web, doesn't really get much higher than that while gaming. Room temp is 30C.

Everything seems seated right. My CPU temps are around 55-65 C on normal use.

Recently I noticed some corrupted images while browsing the internet. Not all the images, but, it seems to be happening more often. At first I thought it was just the browser but it also happened with other apps. I included a sample of what I see (this is a snap of the image someone shared in a group chat in Garena) Not quite sure what's at fault since I don't see it happening on my netbook. I also noticed some network troubles like ping spikes and pages that just randomly give up loading.

Networksharing - Can't find other PC on the network
PRODVDi replied to BAPEsta's topic in Troubleshooting
I finally got it working after I performed a system restore and then uninstalled ZoneAlarm properly (I just deleted the program files which it turns out was not good so I got something to remove it properly) -

Using the IP address doesn't work, I have also tried pinging the host computer but still nothing. -

I am also having a similar problem with my shared folders. It was working fine but now I cannot access my Desktop (DAVID-PC) from my Netbook(HP-MINI-BLUE). The computer name will sometimes show up on the network list but cannot be accessed. I can access the shared folder on my netbook from my desktop but not the other way round. The Windows troubleshooter is of no help. -

I'm working on a Pentium 4 HT computer with 2GB DDR 400 RAM HYNIX and I've been testing out the stability. Whenever I run a Windows Experience Index check I get a BSOD at the Windows Decoder part. I've been able to run prime95 blend using all the RAM for 12 hours with no errors however when running memtest86+ v4.2 I get fails at Test#7. While the system is pretty much usable in Windows 7 I'm wondering if I could just let it be since the main use for it is Microsoft Office and the occasianal checking of email and some printing.

I recently got hold of a Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet card (PCIe) which I promtply intalled on my HP Z400 which as it turns out also has Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet onboard. I'm wondering if using the addon card would have any benefit (any benefit at all) versus onboard given that they are roughly the same. *My router is a PROLINK H5001N which has 10/100 ethernet and 802.11n wifi and is also a modem

I placed a copper coin on my Quadro FX 1500 while it was running and it sparked. The computer went BSOD and I pulled the plug and took the coin as fast as I could. It just started up again like nothing happened.
