It's been a while since I posted this, and wanted to give an update. I finally got it sprayed. I originally wanted it wrapped, but there were a few reasons not to.

The main one was the fact I went with different bumpers + sideskirts, I wanted the M sport ones, and they are almost impossible to get second handed, but there are great replicas for these cars. They however only have primer, and reputable wrappers told me that you don't really want to wrap on that. So if I needed to get it all sprayed, I figured I might as well look into getting it all sprayed, especially since then you get the inside of the doors etc all done as well. Basically unless you start stripping the car or look inside the engine bay, you won't see it's original colour.

Aside from the aforementioned parts, I also added a spoiler, got new side blinkers (smoked LED), gloss black grill and mirror caps.
I'm gonna get the chrome around my windows wrapped gloss black, painting just wasn't an option, gonna get 18 inch OEM BMW wheels, and paint them gloss black as well, and gonna replace the tips of my exhaust, they just don't look that great anymore. I also got a front spoiler, but that will be placed underneath soon, gonna be fairly simple. It's about accent, I do not want to lower my car, especially not where I live. And yes it will lower it by about 1cm in the middle of the bumper (which is the mostly likely part to get damaged with speedbumps - though I've never had that issue so far with this car)
Inside I do want to wrap the trim pieces, once I get in a wrapping shop, I will see if they got something that closely matches the car, and get that for the inside. That I will definitely do myself.

So it's a work in progress still, but work and investment wise, I'd say I'm about 80% done.

Got pretty much completely stripped, which was apparently quite difficult because a lot of the rubbers are glued to the car, due to it being a convertible.

They did primer, white basecoat, 3 layers of yellow, because it's a tough colour to get an even finish. Then 2 layers of clear.

I goes from a bright yellow with a tint of orange, to something much darker depending on the light.

I've driven it twice now, and man I got a lot of attention. What's the great part is that most people tell me they would never get a yellow car, and my colleagues saying they didn't know what to expect, but they all love how it came out, that if you go yellow, this is the one.

This is btw Atacama Gelb/Yellow which was a specialty colour for the BMW Z4 like 10 years ago.

Yesterday I had a day free, and the weather was decent for washing, so I did a huge exterior spring clean.

Citrus prewash + Snowfoam, contact clean, chemical decon, clay decon, DA polish (meguires compound + polish), wax (Soft99 fusso coat). Total time taken was around 6 hours.

Still need to do interior and alloy wheel barrels, but that'll have to wait for some other time.

First time using Fusso coat, I'll see how long it lasts with only maintainance washes once a fortnight or so.

Had a small tour yesterday. Only day this week where we needed it to keep dry, rained all day 😂

Oh well, atleast tears didn't get shred while drifting around corners and didn't bump into many people on foot or bicycles.

Had a really good day today, worked on and got a 1930 Model A Deluxe that had not ran for about 40 years running.

When I first encountered the car it's engine was locked tight and the owner and guys at the shop where it is now coudn't get it freed up. I told the shop owner I could unlock it, so he agreed to let me try - And I got it freed up, no prob.
After that it was a matter of doing what needed to be done and it started up, ran pretty good too.

Fortunately it was a show car already restored in excellent shape before it was parked due to it's owner at the time passing so it sat... And sat.... And sat some more in a barn/shed until someone finally bought it from the family and here we are today.

Anyway there is more work to be done in getting it running 100% since the carb ATM is flooding (Stuck needle valve or bad float) with the expected oil change it needs and some other stuff. For the current owner, once it's running properly it's on with redoing it all over again and since it's already in good condition it's not going to be hard to bring it back to as it was before - You could clean it up and show it now if one really wanted to but as is, it won't be winning any trophys.

Right now it runs fairly smooth with just a little bit of sputtering/skip to it but that should improve as it's ran, it certainly picked up after a minute of running. Was hard to get started at first but once it fired off it just ran and will probrably start way easier the next time it's tried.
The pic isn't that great with the low lighting but got what I could to show it.
Not bad for an old, retired mech and glad I had the opportunity to do it with one of these.

    To sum up:
    Good day today!

nah, you got it all wrong, the Miata is a more modern MGB shall we start calling all miatas as MGBs .. or maybe MGA as that came before the MGB?... plus the Miata aint exactly cool, its a small 2 seater low power sports car thats got no roof (in most variations) thats about it

I had a 1976 TVR 2500, all the electrical bit were grounded at two posts which jutted out from the firewall, just underneath where the engine hood met the body line.
Fantastic since there was no environmental sealing there, so come any amount of rain....
    everything goes dark.

I fucking hope so, I spent enough damn money on it 😂😂😂 I just hit over 60k miles on it, so it's got at least 30k on the rebuild since I shipped it out to Colorado, and 2nd gear hasn't ever given me any issues. I havent done anything super interesting to the car in almost three years, but I do need to install the LED ST badge my gf got me the Christmas before last (Long story short it was designed for the OEM grill so I'm designing and 3D printing my own bracket, and I'm being lazy)
I really loved the option in GTA5 since they mixed in "normal radio" alongside the users music. That would be my ideal since I kinda enjoy the political campaigning interviews as a sorta world-building, but I'm only about 3 hours into the game.
