Hey guys! Here's a small update on the build.

I bent the acrylic piece for the shroud. I think it came out pretty good for my first acrylic panel bend.

Firstly here's a look at the painted rads. You'll notice on the 240 Monsta I stuck some molecule vinyl shapes and painted over to have an even look. Didn't come out as I expected thought I still like the look of it.

Here is how I paint the rads. Cover up all the fins with some painters tape and use some long screws to give me something to grab on to and flip it over so that I can do both sides at once. Another option would be to hang them, though I don't have the space for that.

Here's the case with the shroud in, although it's not secured yet, just sitting in place. Also the front rad is just sitting there so I can visualize the look of things.

I hope I won't have clearance issues with the EK-FC Bridge for the two GPU water blocks with the shroud. Might be pretty tight once the GPUs are in.

I might have something special going in the 5.25" bays. We'll have to wait and see

A look from the back and underneath the shroud. Plenty of room for cable management and I hope that once the PSU is in place the Aquaero will have some room left in there

Side panels are still not painted. It's been way to hot and humid here in Queensland to paint these past few days. I did clean them up and prepped them nicely so they are ready to paint on the next cool .. er day

A close look at the SSD windows

I think the windowed side panel will look sweet once the build is completed

That's about it. Now I need to get the motherboard in and take some measurements for the MB tray acrylic piece. Secure everything properly inside the case, get those side panels done and the case will be near completed.

    Stay tuned for more.

    Cheers,

    Alex

This is my build that i started on at the beginning of the year. Its taken a while and its still not finished. Right now i just kinda get buy with a 5400rpm HDD but that is all going to change. I plan to put 2x 500GB Samsung 840 EVOS in RAID 0 in this thing. If i get a little more money this summer than i think im going to get a 780 and full custom loop. This build will continue to be updated throughout the next 2-3 months with more and more little and maybe big touches. Also a STEEL midplate is being designed by me right now. Should be done in a month or two. (I want to point out this is a continuation of a current build but the topic died and i didnt like the name so heres the new build log).

Goodness it seems like I wrote that summary forever ago. Maybe because I did, lol. So I got the 780 that I so envied in that summary above and I got another 1TB HDD but that didn't seem to calm my hunger. Over the summer I plan on getting some acrylic parts in such as 5.25" bay covers and such, also plan on getting a ICYDOCK FlexCage to hold my HDD's and I just got my Blu-Ray drive yesterday for my Plex library. I recently grabbed some Dominator Platinums and I switched out to a Enermax Liqtech 240 because my H100i died. I plan on at least getting a 4TB HDD for plex and hopefully 2x 480GB SSDS for my main drive (RAID 0) and keep my current 1TB HDD as a game/documents/picture drive.

Have fun looking through the log, its been fun for me and I think I've done pretty well.

Not sure that you have completely thought this through.  There are some big things that you need to consider like, import costs/taxes/duties, developing relationships with company's, buying in bulk to get a better deal.  Its not going to be easy.  But i wish you the best of luck man, I think everyone should have access to cheap computers and parts!

Its fine with me if you use some photos of my PC as an example of what can be done, or even taking ideas and doing them your own way.  I'd prefer you use a more current photo though(links below).  The one you've posted is how it looked before I did the rebuild on it.

So this was my first build log on linustechtips.com or any other place, but its not my first pc build.  But i will say this pc is most likely the nicest one that i've built.  The first couple pictures are how it started out and the rest will be the tare down then the mods, and finally, putting it back together.

    Welcome!
I thought I would share a project I have been working on for a few years! Some of you may have seen it on other forums or somewhere else but now I have started the work log here as well. It is a fully custom chassis built and designed by me.

I have been a long time watcher of LinusTechTips on youtube but I never realized that this forum was here. Because of that I never got around to make a work log here for the whole progress only the last month or so of the build. Anyway I hope you will enjoy it! (Updated the pictures to the final ones and added videos!)

    History behind the Project:
About 5 years ago I decided that I was going to water cool my computer. Back then I had a Antec P180, not exactly the perfect chassis for water cooling your components. I looked at a lot of different chassis but I was never really happy with any of them. So I started sketching on my own design. First they were really awful, but as time progressed I got better and better at drawing. Early drawings was in MS-paint. I then moved on to Google Sketchup and finally Autodesk Inventor. I have probably gone through about 30 different designs until I finally decided on this one. This was my first custom designed chassis and also my first ever water cooled computer! The basic goal was to design a very quiet high-performing system with a minimalistic and clean design.

Edit: Compiled all the Pictures and Videos in the first post.

    Final Result:

The "complete" work log is almost 500 pictures. Below is a compact 100 pics of the process and the final results. If you want ALL 500 pics check out this album: http://imgur.com/a/dTRqx

Edit: Changed the first post to a "final post" with all the pictures, videos, text etc.

Thanks for the comments guys, i'll post some more pics when they are dry, but they cleaned up fairly well... just need to let them set for a day or 2 to let them dry.
