  1. I already bought the PSU and wouldn't mind a new devil's canyon CPU over an older AMD

  4. I already have a mouse and old keyboard. I am willing to wait till Christmas to upgrade my keyboard UNLESS there is a sale or my build cost less than I think...
  5. Let's make this quick and simple... I want to build a computer this weekend with all of the holiday sales. I hope that it will last a good year without needing an upgrade. Things to keep in mind... I have a monitor (Standard 60hz, 1080p) A home server will be in place for Christmas, so limited storage is OK I am hoping sales will bring the cost under $800 USD (without an operating system) I would like a small ,quiet, awesome looking machine (who wouldn't) What I plan on buying: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3q3qWZ i5-4690K Hyper 212 Evo 8 GB G.Skill RAM ASRock Z97M Pro4 Micro ATX Mobo 120GB 840 EVO SSD Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB N200 Cooler Master mATX Case Asus CD Drive Corsair RM650 (Already Purchased) Windows (Already Purchased) Currently about $860 USD What I plan to use for: Gaming (TF2, KSP, F1 2014, Unturned, Crusader Kings II, MC, etc) School Work Possible Streaming Light photo editing Experimenting with Linux distro's Do you think I am underestimating/overestimating the sales this week end? Let me know! Also, when do you think the optimal time to buy these components....Black Friday, Thanksgiving, Cyber Monday? Never? Thanks for the feedback in advance!

  9. Hello World, I am currently looking into building a small form factor computer that is capable of 'gaming' with out braking the bank (aren't we all, I know). Lately I have been doing all of my school work and 'gaming' on a HP Pavilion g6 notebook running an Intel i3 2350m processor and 4GB of RAM that I picked up from a local Office Depot. My goal is to build a computer that will become my daily driver. The budget for this build is around $650. I will most likely be buying everything on sale. The budget could be stretched if I were to sell the laptop, but I do hope to keep it around and use as a net book or something to keep me going if the power goes out. I am here to ask for advice on where I should be spending my money. I hope to play games such as Team Fortress 2, Kerbal Space Program, Minecraft, Terraria, Garry's Mod, and Crusader Kings 2. I will also be using it for school work and procrastination. So far, this is the hardware that has caught my attention: N.B. I would also like it to be as quiet as my budget can afford. Yes, it will be running Linux.
