  1. My favorite feature was slow mo, cause slow mo is awesome.
  2. I would give my system a nice upgrade by buying a X99 mobo with my Xmas money. I'm teaching myself how to edit videos, so the extra rendering power will most definitely be extremely handy.
  3. I'm sad to see that Antec has fallen so much behind their competitors since the days when the 902 and 1200 were some of the best cases out there. I wouldn't mind any of this stuff though, since my case and cooler really suck. I guess I like the case the most, it has a decent feature set.
  4. Ok, figured out it was an issue with Windows/drivers. Had to refresh my Windows install, but I've got the computer back up and running again. Seems weird that Windows just decided to commit suicide out of the blue.
  5. Yes, ethernet works. Also, USB ports do work when Windows boots into recovery mode (where you can restore or refresh Windows).
  6. Yes. My PSU isn't dirty at all. Why would I buy a new one instead of RMA...
  7. So I was just browsing, when my computer hangs. Upon rebooting, I ran into the problem that none of my peripherals (mouse, keyboard and monitor) are powered up. I post just fine, I get the single short beep that signals everything is detected and working. Then Windows starts loading. My keyboard and mouse power off, which is normal. But instead of powering back on and getting to the logon screen, none of the peripherals get power. Sometimes though it goes into "recovery mode", where the peripherals get power. Also, if I let the system just be there, my peripherals get short flashes of power (LEDs flash on and off). I don't really have any idea where to start troubleshooting. I did run my CPU and GPU overclocked, but they were pretty conservative settings, and my temps were always in check. Also, I have been running without problems for 9 months or so. My suspicions are on the PSU, since it's power related. Anyone had the same problems or have an idea what is causing this? My specs: CPU: AMD FX-8320 @4.1 GHz 1.26875V Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (stock settings) Mobo: Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 GPU: Club3D R9 280X @1125/1525 PSU: Corsair CX600M Cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO Storage: Kingston V300 120GB SSD + WD Blue 1TB OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit
  8. Congrats on reaching the 1 million milestone! I think I first stumbled upon LTT when I was trying to pick parts for my first PC a couple of years ago, and wanted to see some unboxing videos of said products. And guess what, you guys had unboxing videos of a lot of things, so I decided to subscribe, and have been sticking around ever since. I don't really have one series of videos that are my favorite, I just like the general style of your videos. The at times weird humor makes them feel "human" and you are always honest about your opinions on a product.
  9. Could really use a new PSU... Here are my favorite videos: TechQuickie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9XuCz1FQEU JayzTwoCents: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7BdBPSx92M
  10. I like how this laptop is a jack of all trades. The balance between gaming performance and form factor is great, because you can have a decent gaming experience when traveling or otherwise away from home, but it's not clumsily thick to the point where it would be a serious pain to use for productivity. Add to that a IPS-screen and a decent price, and you've got yourself a winner of a laptop IMO.
  11. So I'm looking to replace my current laptop, and I've been on the lookout for some thin gaming oriented notebooks. Because of that I'm interested in knowing how much difference in gaming I'd be experiencing between an i5 4200H and an i7 4710HQ? Just to save you from searching, the i5 4200H is a hyperthreaded dual core running at 2.8 GHz and 3.4 GHz on Turbo, where as the i7 4710HQ is a hyperthreaded quad core running at 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz on Turbo boost. The kicker is that while the model with the i7 has 16GB RAM vs 8GB on the i5 model (which doesn't matter for my type of usage), the i7 model for some reason is listed for around 300 bucks more. I have a suspicion though that this is the retailer boosting the price, since both models will first be available in 6 weeks from now.
  12. I re-installed it, still not any better. For thermal paste, I just put the small pea sized blob in the middle as recommended by most people. The backplate is completely secure, and I tightened the screws as much as I could. I guess I just got really unlucky with the silicon lottery.
  13. I'm beginning to lean towards me botching the installation. Just tried to bump both LLC to high and volts to 1.3, had to stop it after 2 min on Prime95 blend because it was going to hit TJ max. Or is it possible that a chip after a certain voltage just goes crazy and pumps out insane amounts of heat?
  14. I'm using HWMonitor, from what I've heard it's the most reliable one.
