That is exactly what I'm doing though; Learning. I can't get a good output to show people/companies. But it's not like I'm wasting time. I'm watching 1000s hours of tutorials and making silly stuff.

I don't want to convince my dad into buying anything now. I've given up. In another thread I've come to realized that I'm looking for easy ways to get stuff and the world is not easy. I'll go and do some shitty jobs as long as it pays me I should be fine(spoiler: I won't)

Asking my dad for stuff is out of the question now. I've given up. I'm really not finding the answers to my question and I don't even know what I'm asking.

There is a lot of data entry jobs available and the reason I don't want to do them is because I hate typing. Dad used to make me do these kind stuff and I hated every second of it. Mentally I'm very weak, if I mess something during those jobs I'll be thinking about it all day. The reason I want to do CG/gaming related work is that if I make a mistake it'll be about something I'm already comfortable with. But still data entry/typing is my last resort.

Getting a video out of Unreal is no issue. It's the recording the Maya UI to show the rigs I've made. Everytime I record the output is very blocky and stuttery.

I never said that I want to make games. I want to work in game industry as "Technical animator/ Rigger" Here comes the sad part. I really wouldn't call myself young at this point. I'm going to be 27 this week. I'm useless piece ofwho still doesn't have a job. I'm a very slow learner. It takes me 2 hours to write a basic piece of code in python. Yes, I only want to do the things that I'm interested in. Reason? I really don't know, I'm not joking. Not exactly a health issue but I'm skinny, like really skinny. I'm 26 and I weigh ~56 kilos. I get tired very quickly. During school I had to take 2 hour bus then back again. By the time I'm home it's 3:30 and all I'm capable of doing is sleep. Do I constantly ask for free things? No. I can count the amount of times I've asked for free things: 5 times. He knows what I do. I've explained to him 3 times(yes I counted) why I need a new pc/laptop. And I really don't want to nag him with this again and again. And I hate asking for things. He's not interested in video games or movies. I don't think anyone in my family has watched a single movie in 5 years. tl;dr: I'm a depressed 27 year old loser who doesn't want to work but still wants free things. I think I need therapy more than anything. Also, 3rd world country. Part-time jobs...ehh. Best case scenario I'd get $10/month.

I am really sorry about that. I didn't had a decent internet connection until recently. Before that I had to connect to the internet via mobile tethering. So my PC stays offline basically all day. I also thought that a thread would last 12-24 hours. Wasn't expecting to get so many replies

No, I'm unemployed. And I don't want to be a 3D modeler. I thought it's something I can do so I can buy a good laptop. There are couple of part-time jobs posted online so I thought maybe I can do that. So, I don't think they'll send a device for a part-time job.

It can handle upto 100K polys. Baking textures and stuff is very slow but it gets the work done. Is my internet good enough?

I haven't applied anywhere for work yet but I want to do some part-time 3D modelling work so I can buy a laptop for myself. My current setup is: FX-6300, 8 Gb DDR3, GT 610 2 Gb. Maya lags but modelling is good enough. Is it good enough for work or am I just screwd? Edit: My internet connection is 30 mbps but I get 3-4 mbps while downloading files. Shows 15-20 mbps in YouTube stats. So as most of you suggested that I should earn my laptop rather than asking my dad. I am considering it. I should have mentioned that I live in a 3rd world country and I can't just go out and work at a McDonalds or something. One of you even suggested that I should mow neighbor's lawn XD. I live in a village, no one has a lawn lol!

I want just enough to get the work done. There won't be any 3D rendering just in-engine testing. And PC market here is so bad that same parts would exceed $1000. We don't even have 2nd hand market.

I want to work in game industry which means using a lot 3D applications. Working in Maya/3DS Max isn't too bad but it still runs very slow. When I need to test my characters and assets in game engines; I just can't! It's too slow, 15-30 FPS in UE4. I can't even record and edit my showreel! I can try to explain these issues to my dad but I don't think he's too interested. Maybe because he wanted me to become an engineer and is just disappointed in me. The annoying part is that he isn't exactly denying it. He's like 'sure', but never a 'yes'. I don't like asking for stuff and that is why I've only asked like twice in 3 years, plus I already annoy him with other stuffs. And no, it's not as simple as get a small job and buy it yourself. I want to spend my time learning. Having to lean 4-5 applications+programming languages is already too much for me. Not looking for anything special, something like ASUS A15 Ryzen 7 4800H + RTX 3050, which is like $800-$850 in my country.

For the god's sake change the monitor! 3060 and that display. I'm pretty sure it doesn't even have HDMI/DP port. 3060 doesn't even come with VGA output.

Yeah, mine is definitely smaller than this and way less dense fins. It doesn't even have the copper part.

I believe a normal blower card would look more like the one in GTX 980
