About a year ago i started getting fragments and strange things happening on my display. Around this time my video card driver was crashing all the time. I wasn't sure what the problem was. Finally it got to the point to where my computer would freeze and lock up when i started windows. After much troubleshooting, I found the cause of the problem was one of my video cards. I was using two 660tis in sli.
Fast forward to now. Ive had this video card sitting in my closet in an anti-static bag in the original box. I want my second video card back, im sure theres some way i could fix this problem.
So this morning i throw the card back in my computer to see if i can fix this. When i boot up the computer nothing strange happens. I get into windows and everything seems perfect. I was so excited. About 10 mins in my computer freezes. I restart the computer. Things seem to be fine. I went into the nvidia control panel and noticed i forgot to turn on sli. As soon as i turn it on, the computer freezes.
I restart my computer but with only the "broken" video card. PC freezes as soon as i get to windows.
I've tried the graphics card in safe mode. Works like a charm.
I dont have any overclocks at all. I've reinstalled all drivers.
Im not sure what could be the problem, or if i can even fix this problem.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
