  1. Its not the backups im worried about losing, its the movies/TV shows/music that the family and myself will be streaming daily. The NAS will be the only place they're kept.
  2. If I were to build a personal home NAS, would it be worth buying 2 HDDs for a raid 1 setup? It will be used for PC backups and movie/TV/music streaming. So I guess the data isnt TOO important. (I have 2 other PC backups elsewhere) Also, what are your opinions on using 2.5in HDDs for this 24/7 NAS? I would absolutely love to use this mini-box case I have laying around. http://www.mini-box.com/M350-universal-mini-itx-enclosure Thanks guys.
  3. I saw on a NAS build log that this guy was using the Intel D945GCLF2 (which seems perfectly capable for me) and powering it with a picoPSU-120-WI-25. I noticed that this PSU doesnt have a 4pin EPS plug, and that this motherboard has a socket for one. I couldnt find anything on the post about this. Would he have used a molex to 4pin EPS adapter, or is it not necessary for something like this? Also, If there are any other parts that are far superior to these, let me know. 4. I would, but my motherboard doesnt have a display output
  5. Just did a couple of other tests and a reboot, and it seems to be pretty normal now. Thanks for the help.
  6. At idle, my memory is at 150mhz, and core at 300. After unplugging my secondary monitor, my idle temp dropped down to 40c, which i am much happier with.
  7. I am using dual monitors (one 1080p, one 768p), but 50 seems like more than a slight increase. I am also planning on getting 2 more fans to populate the front intakes. that would help a bit.
  8. Hi all, I have noticed that the idle temp of my Sapphire R7 265 is a little high. MSI Afterburner is telling me that my core temp is idling at 50c, and is about 73c after running Heaven Benchmark for 10 minutes. The ambient temp is around 30c Should it be this high? am I getting a dodgy reading?
  9. Title says it all. After 2 faulty AsRock motherboards, im wondering if I should go MSI? I have heard mixed reviews. Thanks
  10. For someone who has rarely worn a watch, and has a fairly small wrist, would it be worth waiting for the Moto 360 (not released in AUS yet) or buying an LG G Watch?
  11. Well, so far what I've done is restore everything to default (still with latest bios and beta drivers), underclocked my CPU to 3300mhz and left the GPU clock at 925, but turned down the power limit by 8%. I also discovered that before I do any of this, DayZ makes the computer crap itself within 30 seconds of loading into the menu, so thats my new testing software Update: 5 Minutes in, it seems to be working Thanks for all the help everyone! I will run IntelBurnTest and Valley for a bit later and double check that its all good
  12. Well I underclocked the CPU to 3Ghz, and the GPU to 800mhz. No shutdown or anything! Im guessing it must be the PSU not giving me enough juice.
