  1. well i just upgraded my rift S to a quest 2 and my 1080ti to a 3080ti i play high demanding stuff like sim racing with supersampling and stuff and the 3080ti is an absolute beast but the upgrade from a 3060 to a 3070 isnt worth it if you cant at least swing for a 3080 i'd wait.
  2. I secured a RTX 3080Ti MSI ventus for 1300$CAD i'm over the moon i'm picking it up tomorrow it looks like i'll finally be able to upgrade from my 1080ti yéééé!!! 🙂

That's with the core overclocked to 2550MHz and memory overclocked to the max (+150mhz + fast timings)
      Quite fast 😛

20 045....hummm impressive...i'm not gonna attempt the firestrike but tonight i might give another go at this one see if i can get there lol 🙂 nice work!

In FireStrike you'll be CPU limited because it's very high-FPS, my graphics score improved quite noticeably there when I upgraded from 3700X to 5800X

Your card would demolish mine in the RT benchmarks though, PortRoyal is mixed RT+Rasterization (more useful) and there's also the DirectX Raytracing feature test that's purely RT

i don't like how RT looks tho sometimes like in BF5 even with EVERYTHING on max it still looks grainy and wierd sometimes...but other times the shadows and lighting in the Ascent for example is very nice looking.

Anyways...yeah my card...she doesn't care man i put +100 on the core clock and the clocks are still almost the same it gets as low as 1750mhz in some scenes, you can tell they are throttling that thing to death. For example, when the load drops in the 50% range the clocks goes as high as 2070mhz as you can see from the chart...so i have a good chip most likely in there but it's limited by power...

i sill got a bit better score because memory respond well, i'm getting closer:

      image.thumb.png.a49cec55a16cc53e3d85d6593acb10b3.png

It's better but the big hit would come by letting pull 500W and burn itself to death lol could probably reach 22 000 or something LOL 😛

I' do not own 3d mark on steam so i have to run the DEMO and the CPU test to get the score from GPU TEST 1 and 2...takes a while...but i need to know this card anyways so it was great...

ill try one step higher if i get better score ill post 1 EDIT but if you dont see it then it means it crashed and i reverted to daily profile and already gaming 🙂 hehe

EDIT: OKAY, so i was wrong...this time i put +140mhz on core and the highest recorded was 2100mhz and lowest 1815mhz so it DOES push the core clocks higher AND i think my chip is a golden one cause she does not exhibit any issues yet, and the memory clocks are at +650 which turns out to 10 152mhz

I will test more tomorrow night cause now i want to play, but it is getting closer again 🙂

  3. yeah no AMD, definitely ray-tracing priority it's the future we are already seeing it i play a lot of new titles and there are always stuff i can't turn on and i can't use the Ai supersampling thingy they have going on...and the games no longer look as nice IMHO in normal rasterization i think many devs are cutting corner now since the games are getting rendered in ray-traced reflections and shadows so why bother making it look supreme nice for the 1080ti you know what i mean...they make it look ''OKAY'' in rasterization and GORGEOUS in ray-tracing... Also, AMD in canada right now just as expensive as nvidia for the same level of rasterize performance, but you get better ray-tracing and drivers with nvidia...at least when it comes to ''game launch'' drivers and since i tend to download and play my games in the month after they come out (not 12 months later) then nvidia is best they are more on point IMHO. For me to go AMD it would have to be much cheaper than nvidia like it used to be...say i could get the top dog AMD card for the price of a basic RTX 3080 then i might consider it but other than that no...and VR it's even worse the support is ALL on nvidia the studios ALL use nvidia provided assets, techniques and technologies to produce and test the content...
  4. im really considering this card, it's priced really well and it's exactly the model i'd want...but i don't know when the next gen cards are coming out and this card might very well sell for 799$ just 3 months from now... https://www.newegg.ca/msi-geforce-rtx-3080-rtx-3080-gaming-z-trio-10g-lhr/p/N82E16814137677?Item=N82E16814137677&Description=rtx 3080&cm_re=rtx_3080-_-14-137-677-_-Product on the other hand i have the box and everything my current 1080ti gaming X trio is pristine and could probably fetch 720$CAD online or something locally... NOW TECH IS GETTING INTERESTING AGAIN!!! YÉÉÉÉÉ
  5. there are some great titles now but i don't play them i mostly use mine for sim racing, which is absolutely awesome.
  6. i have a 1080ti with a rift S and i tend to play newer games and most of them now have raytracing and stuff and now that prices and availabiltly are there my 1080ti is going out soon for sure i want a new higher resolution vr headset at the same time too to really do a step up...1080ti is playing well games at 1440p but can't play the newest AAA titles like there' mean't to be seen so fack that...
  7. i mean...OMFG 🤯 check this out guys:

  10. i would try to trade it for a 1080ti personally...can play all the latest games at 1440p high details+ clean AA and everything...80 to 120FPS easy.
  11. Whats the point he already own the wide monitor...
  12. Good luck finding something decent at reasonable price...this is depressing.
  13. i remember my 4770K i would run at 4.2ghz on all threads with 1.19v on a Z87-G45 msi gaming board... a good starting point if you don't need all the performance would be to further lower the clock to say 3.5ghz and test with like 1.1v and test for stability, at this point the CPU should already be pulling much less power than stock settings, heck even my 4.2ghz OC was pulling about the same or less than stock. i believe if i'm not mistaken the default voltage on my cpu core with default settings would be around 1.28v in Hwinfo64..which obviously was way too much.
  14. @SquiddyButler personally, 2560x1440p high refresh (even 120hz would do fine for me) at 27'' is where it's at for a good desktop sitting pancake gaming experience. i would go with 3440x1440p high refresh ultra wide at this point tho, personally. 1080p was nice 7 years ago...and 4K is useless for a monitor this size. EDIT: something like this: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/viotek-gnv34dbe-34-uwqhd-curved-gaming-monitor-144hz-1440p-3-year-warranty-hdmi-displayport-black/6420872.p?acampID=0&cmp=RMX&intl=nosplash&irclickid=QInxkk3sZxyLU6V0MdV3iVCmUkEWkoR9sxGw100&irgwc=1&loc=PCPartPicker&mpid=79301&ref=198&refdomain=pcpartpicker.com&skuId=6420872 If over budget, something like that similar specs but 2560x1440 can be found easily around 300$ Click this link for options: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/#D=100000,360000&sort=price&r=256001440 This one is REALLY nice IMHO: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/DNH8TW/gigabyte-g27qc-270-2560x1440-165-hz-monitor-g27qc
  15. For the past few weeks i've been playing a game called Detroit: Become human...

It's amazing i have no words how to describe it but if you havn't played it yet, i strongly recommend you play it.

This is AAA at it's best everything about that game is of the upmost quality and the story is amazing and the graphics are gorgeous, the game has it all.

Also the game is easy to get for free if you know where to look...knaa'mean. So you can try it out before you get to buying it 😉

It's on my wishlist once I finish Cyberpunk. It's hard to find time though.
