You can ask dumb questions about tech and ltt but please at least stay nice while doing so. Memes and speculations about ltt really belong on the Meme Thread and no where else.

I see that guy Linus is quoting around a lot. He'll post like, 6 things to one topic that usually have nothing to do with said topic. Kinda seems keen on having a high post count if you ask me. What topic is this? I'm not interested in flaming the guy, just wanna read more for context.

Yea, it really is a shame people like that guy can't get banned more easily.

I know we're not allowed to call out trolls, but he really is one.

Can't wait for his departure from this forum.

Not often am I annoyed by other members, but this dude is an exception.

Although I know I shouldn't worry too much, he isn't the first 'dumb content'-user and luckily they either get banned some day or just go away.

I think posting things that have nothing to with the topic should get warning points after like the third time.

Although the CS is so vague in some ways it could use some changing IMO.

I think it was a reasonable straightforwards exchange, we already know the practices of subtle product placements instructions requested & demanded by sponsors towards Youtubers for future support/revenue/ads or whatever reasons. ive read about NVIDIA requesting "a visible shelf spot" in the background to a youtuber on his video background while doing review for AMD or intel,  some companies asking youtubers to suggest a certain product in the final recommendation in exchange for future sponsored episodes & such. I guess he was instigating on that kind  of a branding deal happening in the background.

But i think the part which got Linus agitated was when he said "He needs the money" , it kinda makes him seems like a complete sellout. one thing i genuinely like about Linus is he is transparent about sponsor spots & revenue. only tech youtuber ive seen who shows his yearly YouTube income estimate out in the open.

in this case he was wearing the watch because he was feeling like it, not because he got payed for it , he said it explicitly & i believe him . because he got a track record of being open about sponsor spots .

@Blademaster91 I recall hearing or reading from staff or moderators that the CS were deliberately made vague and/or open to interpretation to help cases when there's moderator involvement. With less specific rules it's easier for the mods to make judgment calls as to weather or not something is or is not allowed.

With more specific rules it makes edge cases harder to judge.

So really just be friendly, don't spam, and everything'll be fine. Unfortunately those are both things greenmax isn't doing very well.
