nobody had a nasty forum outage a few hours back? 
cloud-flare host error? I'm seeing nothing for that , like it didn't happen. usually theres a huge hustle when shit like that happens.

not an update related outage, usually it's informed prior , must be some hardware issue from their part.

Yah, all I got was "Site is offline" and then suddenly it was back. No cloudflare option and no message about updates so I assume something got hosed too.

only internet explorer showed the usual host error. 3 other browsers were surprisingly confused & just showed offline error. even the 'website down' checkup sites were saying the forum was online which made it more confusing.

You should have only got generic errors for a bit of time, then it should have switched to a specific error message. The forum server broke, so the site was down for about 3 hours.
