  1. Thanks guys. Your guesses were basically right... FORGOT THERMAL PASTE. Thankfully no damage.. at least I don't see any. Side note: The new XSPC Razor blocks seem to do the job. VRM temps are low 30's and the gpu temp is about avg 42 under gaming load. So far satisfied with these blocks!
  2. Hey guys, just finished putting together my loop and finished bleeding it. For some reason I'm getting high idle temps (20 degrees hotter than the first GPU) around 50 degrees. Eventually the hotter GPU would disappear from CCC, GPU-Z, HWMonitor, etc. Is it overheating and then shutting itself down? Or is this a motherboard issue? Is the GPU not seated properly (can't reseat due to SLI/Crossfire Bridge Link)? Also if the GPU is still active and in crossfire, it would lock my whole system (if it didn't disappear from the system) and I would have to do a hard restart. Any ideas appreciated! Current Rig: Asus Maximus VI Formula Swiftech H220 expanded w/ 360mm radiator i7 4770k @ 35 degrees idle 1st 7950 w/ XSPC Razor block @ 30 degrees idle 2nd 7950 w/ XSPC Razor block @ 50+ degrees idle
  3. Ordered too. Don't forget the new customer promo code for another $10 off. You can only use it with a new credit card that hasn't been used yet, and you have to register at checkout.
  4. Talked to one of the big guys at Asus here that represent for Canada.. he said it'll be available in two weeks mostly everywhere.. but newegg will still receive it first (probably at the end of next week). There is still no set price for it yet either which is odd since they have a pricing for the Impact. We can just sit back and only hope for no more delays :(
  5. Little update.. AsusROG on a youtube comment said "Newegg exclusive the first week of August and projected MSRP of 300 to 310. Thanks for the view and support." so it looks like Newegg gets first dibs and then everyone else will sell it afterwards either this coming week or next week!
  6. I got a coupon code today.. but how do I get the extra game with their Level Up promo?.. Or did they give me the wrong game coupon? :O
  7. I think this is the older Double D or something.. EK's cooling config lists two different Double D cards. From the picture here: http://ncix.ca/products/?sku=2222120255&vpn=FX-795A-TDFC&manufacture=XFX%2FDivision%20of%20Pine it shows 1 DVI port only.. does that mean it'll fit?
  8. Hey guys, I was wondering if the XFX 7950 Double D part#:FX-795A-TDFC will fit the new XSPC 7970 waterblock. Has anyone tried this combo? From looking at it, it looks like it will fit.. but I hear there are two different reference designs for the 7950 (One called 7970 reference and the other called 7950 reference?) I'm confused! :@
  9. I threw in an extra 360mm rad to my 3570k + 2x 6970s with the H220 loop. Load temps on GPUs were about 51 degrees max. I like my H220 but yes there are better kits like the custom XSPC kit.. unless you're Canadian. Then the only 'affordable kit would be a $300 EK kit by Dazmode.
  10. -Updated bios on motherboard, and video cards. Same result. -Tried running a 7870 on load. No crashing. My thoughts so far, -Could be Crossfire problem -Could be Windows 8 problem -Could be the actual video cards.. Next things to test, -Individual PCIe Cards to verify it is not a motherboard issue. -Individual GPU testing on each individual PCIe slot with a PCIe extension bridge. If anyone has any other suggestions please post freely!
  11. A little update! -Tried memtest on my current RAM and tried my other DIMM slots with a new pair of RAM sticks. Same results. -Thought it was my double crossfire bridges. No results. -Did a clean install of Windows 8. Same results. My games and Heaven Benchmark are still suddenly crashing and need to be terminated through the task manager. Anyone have any other ideas?
  12. I have the same results with over clocking, under clocking, and stock speeds on both CPU and GPUs. I tested HDMI, DVI, and VGA dedicated monitors. Also tried reseating gpus, cpu, and RAM sticks.
  13. Hey guys, I'm having a problem with my setup suddenly. Not sure if its from updating drivers but when gaming (Dota2, SC2) it would randomly 'crash' to my desktop but I wouldn't be able to click anything until I CTRL+ALT+DEL the game. Time varies between 5 minutes to 20 minutes of gameplay. Also worse case I would crash completely with a Grey screen sometimes just a black screen and would require a hard boot. However, running Heaven Benchmark for 30 minutes on each GPU and then in crossfire, I've had no artifacts, overheating, or abnormal readings (I still eventually crash to desktop). Stuff i've diagnosed: - Not temperatures for CPU/GPU. (all water cooled) - Not power supply. (tried replacing for a 1000W) - Tried latest, older, and beta Catalyst drivers after clean wipe each time Odd stuff I've noticed: -RAM shows 1600 even though its 1866 at 1.5V with manual set timings -Parts of my Windows 8 have gone missing. (ex. when I went to uninstall a program, some buttons such as the 'Uninstall' and 'Repair' buttons were gone. Also, when I right click my desktop I would have a 'Display' menu instead of the usual 'Resolution etc' menu. System specs: i5 3570k 2x Radeon 6970 Asus Maximus IV Gene Z/Gen 3 2x 4GB G.Skill Sniper 1866MHz @ 1.5V Corsair 1000W and XFX 750W PSU Windows 8 Pro WMC All in custom water cooling Any suggestions? I don't know what to do anymore. :(
  14. From what I can remember the problem is fixed with the EN version..? Correct me if im wrong. To reduce the amount or chances of corrosion try not to mix 9001 metals and use EK's coolant for compatability sake.
  15. I kind of like that extra thick walled tubing.. so it looks like I have to go with another set of compression fittings in order to get this to work. Thanks guys! Also if anyone can let me know which fittings worked for their Primochills that would be great too. :)
