  1. Decided to try some more things, and I used driver fusion to nuke the AMD drivers on my system. I installed my old GPU and it booted into windows. For 5 seconds. After those 5 seconds the screen went black and it was the same issue as before. I just tried windows in safe mode, and that is giving me no issues - I am currently using my GPU to write this response. Going to try checking the GPU temps and then setting a downclock on the GPU to see if I can get it working on a lower clock speed
  2. I have tried it in 2 other systems with the same results. As for the correct drivers I used the autodetect the second time round because I was wondering the same thing. I have never heard of the backing trick but I will look it up and give it a go, thanks! Edit - after a quick google search, the baking trick sounds like a terrible idea. But if it's dead who cares
  3. Yes, the cable is connected to the GPU, not the motherboard. I have already tried 3 system restore points, 7 fresh OS installs, 6 different versions of AMD drivers and nothing makes a difference - I even tried with a non 144hz monitor to see if that was causing issues but nooo. Thanks for the reply, but it's not that
  4. Thanks for the reply, sorry mine is late: Corsar CX500m 500W psu Gigabyte H81M-DS2V motherboard intel i5 4460 AMD r9 270x 8GB HyperX fury 1600mhz Samsung 850 evo 250GB SSD WD Blue 1TB Hitachi 500GB Generic LG optical drive Coolermaster 212 evo with stock fan 3 x Fractal 140mm Fans Case doesn't mean shit but I have a fractal R5
  5. I am having an issue with my 270x where it shows a black image with no cursor when windows loads when a graphics driver is installed. It shows the image for the BIOS and the windows loading logo, but when it actually gets into windows the card refuses to show anything other than a black screen. On a new install of windows the card works when using the microsoft basic display adapter, but when a driver is installed the computer stops giving any signal other than black. I have tried using different drivers, different OS and different PCs. It is definitely a problem consistent to the card and not any other hardware or software I am using. Is there anything else I should try before I start to use it as a wonderful new coaster and replace it? Thanks.
  6. FPS shown through a monitor =/= input lag from low fps
  7. Thank you very much for the time you took to find those. Although you can fuck off with that mackbook <3
  8. Lel, laptops not desktops Thanks though man. I think something like an 850m will do just fine
  9. No problem, its only CSGO where I would framewhore. Other games 60-80 is just fine
  10. The refresh rate of the laptop does not matter, I am not even looking at a specific laptop - I need to know what mobile GPU I need to drive 200fps in CSGO. Don't tell me you cannot tell the difference between 60fps on a 60hz display and 200fps on a 60hz display in CSGO. You can, I have done blind tests and I most definitely can. There is no comparison.
  11. Budget is not really an issue, but I would rather not go over £800ish. I live in the UK
  12. I am an FPS whore, and do not want to dip below 120 as that is where the game starts to feel smooth. 200 is butter smooth, please do not start the "60hz display" argument as this is not what this is about; while it looks the same to an onlooker, it feels different to the user.
  13. Quite simple, I need a laptop for CSGO that will run at 200fps on full settings. I only want to turn off AA/postprocessing. What spec will I need? Aside from CSGO this will be a work laptop, but that does not matter.
