Random conspiracy theory:

The NordVPN hack was orchestrated by deep state agents to make VPN's look unreliable to the general public, thus discouraging them from trusting VPN or end-to-end encryption in general.

Nonsense? Or social engineering?

I am not saying this is true, nor do I have any evidence to assert the claim. Just something that popped into my head.

If you can think it, so can they.  And they have the money to make something like that happen and it wouldn't even be a drop in the bucket.

If the WHY is asked on a lot of things, it can be scary for the sheeple.  That's why "this couldn't be possible bru!"

even more conspiracy is that VPN companies are a ruse & are there in-order to reroute traffic from all suspicious users explicitly trying to be careful about their browsing habit. who wants to hide their browsing habit from their government.

I'd say that government officials and politicians would want to hide their traffic.
