  1. Make sure your pc isn't running on Power Saver mode.
  2. I know right! I just noticed as I ordered! There's ram with the same colour as the board and cards for the same price! I'm such a derp
  3. PC is up and running - build log and pics will be coming
  4. Guys, tomorrow (18th of May) I will be building my PC once it gets delivered. Pictures and everything. The build will consist out of : Fractal Define R5 RM1000 Asrock X99 Extreme6 I7 5820K Nepton 240M G.Skill 16GB DDR4-2400 (Red) 2x MSI GTX 980's based off reference design (rear exhaust) Crucial M550 512GB SSD ASUS ROG Swift and a 27" LG IPS monitor. Some laptop HDD's I'm excited guys. °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° Yes, I know, the pictures are terrible quality. The Build Log : Who doesn't want to come home to a bed full of PC stuff? They ain't pretty, but they were available and cheap. (€1200) Hey there beautiful. Ram and CPU are in... let's have some fun with the Nepton. Just derpin' Looks pretty cool. -self high-five for bad pun- i changed the fans to exhaust btw 99 problems but wattage ain't one. Let's get some GPU going on in there. -Heavy Breathing- There she is. Hope you guys survived the image quality and the cable management. I've got some serious gaming to do. Toodaloo
  5. Especially not for gaming, correct, but if you can push it, it's something to consider since it's a good platform to upgrade over the next years (imho). Depends on they kind of money you think you'll want to invest in your baby (pc ).
  6. IMHO, cut back on the Titan and look for some DDR4 action. It's kinda the future. :c
  7. everything that doesnt say "new" basicly
  8. I recently introduced my friend to PC gaming, and he got hooked. I decided to build a PC for him using a combination of second hand bits and new bits. For 360 GBP I got a little beast. R9 280x from MSI 3570k 8gigs of corsair ram P8H67 rev 3.0 mobo New vs550 psu New CM K380 Artic Cooling Alpine 11 GT Its fairly new but so far we've tried DayZ and Battlefield 4 and the results were stunning. Such a good value for the performance. Details can be provided if desired. So what are your experiences with second hand tech stuff?
  9. I just don't see how these companies would benefit from it. You can't make up £1000+ in advertisement. By the gods though, I hope they do. This build looks neat as hell.
  10. Without the intention of sounding like your average internet troll and coming over like a douchebag, but what do you have that you think will tempt ASUS and Corsair to give you roughly a thousand pound of tech?
  11. Case and psu aren't available for me, the colour scheme I did take in to account, but I don't really care about it, and I realised I have another copy of Win8.1 from my university. HDD wise, I've tried all of them, except for Reds, so I thought, fuck it, why not.
  12. I was just questioning the suggested build of 2 290's on a 60hz 1080p monitor. Seems odd to me.
  13. Can I ask what you're planning on putting inside of this?
  14. They're either not available or too expensive. Thanks.
  15. If you're going for a brand new system, looks good to me.
  16. Looks like a good build mate, but buying a 144hz 1080p now, to eventually get a 1440p 144hz, might hurt.
  17. Now that the due date for my PC is coming closer and closer, I thought I'd throw my build through the LTT forum, for final evaluation. PC Specs : CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Nepton 240M 76.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: MSI X99S SLI Plus ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard Memory: G.Skill 16 GB DDR4-2133 Kit Storage: Crucial MX100 512GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Western Digital Red 2TB 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 980 4GB Twin Frozr Video Card (2-Way SLI) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 980 4GB Twin Frozr Video Card (2-Way SLI) Case: Fractal Design Define R5 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair RM 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit) Monitor: Acer Predator XB270HU Total: +-3700 PC Partpicker : http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Vandaskuut/saved/#view=Bj8Pxr If you have any suggestions, the item you'd swap out, needs to be available for me. All of these components have to be available on http://www.alternate.be or http://www.coolblue.be What will I be doing : Gaming every* kind of game. Server management Light video production My normal workload tends to be...demanding. I'm a speed freak. Coding Why I chose my components? I7 5820k - Price + excellent for gaming and for work. I'm not planning to go 3x SLI so the lanes shouldn't play a role. MSI X99s SLI Plus - I've swapped motherboards constantly, this one has a good price, enough features and reviewers (although not majors) seem to like it. Nepton 240M - Price and performance. Friend of mine has it. G.Skill 16 GB DDR4-2133 Kit - Cheapest 16gb Quadchan kit I could find. Crucial MX100 512GB 2.5" Solid State Drive - Good speeds, cheap and reviewers choice. Storage: Western Digital Red 2TB 3.5" - Friend has a couple of 4TB's, Reds are famous for their durability. MSI GeForce GTX 980 4GB SLI - Can't find decently priced reference cards, and since I'll be playing 1440p on a 144hz G-Synced screen, I want to push 144 frames at a good image. Fractal R5 - I like seeing pie's get smashed in to Linus' face. RM850 - Modular, good rating, reliable brand. Windows 8.1 - It's not that we want it, it's that we have to. Acer Predator XB270HU - If I'm going to be spending this money on a monitor, might as well do it right. Let's go for it guys, give me your best. * I play single-threaded games and games that handle cores..."better".
  18. Luke's benchmarks on his latest video (vessel) beg to differ.
  19. I'd go with a different PSU since you might want to SLI that 970 later. Nice build though.
