  1. Exactly what I was trying to say , but I want to know more specifically what you mean by "get more out of them (the headphones.)" Like, if you could describe what the improvement would be that would be awesome. Also, are onboard DACs that bad for you to say that a better DAC will help? Cause I have the same onboard chip as the one reviewed in the Tom's link I posted and according to their review the sound it provided was indistinguishable from high end DACs. Thanks for the help. Edit: and thanks nanner...Ill give that a hash mark in my scorebook
  2. I should add, the DAC+Amp I was looking into was the O2/ODAC.
  3. I've been researching for a solid week and I've been finding a lot of conflicting information and need some help. I've been reading and some people say that as long as you dont hear any background noise from PC interference and your volumes are loud enough, you will not benefit from a DAC+Amp. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/high-end-pc-audio,3733-19.html http://nwavguy.blogspot.com/2011/02/gain-and-headphone-ampsdacs.html Right now I'm using my PC (Realtek ALC889 codec) to play FLAC files through the headphones and they sound great. The volume at 60% is comfortable to listen to for hours and these headphones are just the best headphones I've ever heard. There is no static or hissing that I can hear either. Since I've never listened to a high end pair of headphones through a DAC+Amp, I want to know if I can improve on the sound that I'm currently getting with my setup. So with my listening experience now (clear audio + comfortable volume @ 60% max volume) will I perceive any noticeable changes in sound if I buy a DAC+Amp? Will I hear things or experience sound differently so that I'd call the DAC+Amp a necessary upgrade? Thanks
  4. http://www.head-fi.org/t/618659/fostex-t50rp-incremental-mods-and-measurements looks pretty easy to mod might not be mad dogs or zmf...whatever but Im sure theyll be aw3some...once all my stuff comes in the mail ill post on how my modding goes
  5. lol awesome find, reminds me of the time I found a bluetooth stereo receiver at the swapmeet for $1...cheers!
  6. Aw man I coulda saved 6 bucks. Next time, good post
  7. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/high-end-pc-audio,3733-19.html I just read this article reviewing DACs. It had a few audio tests that evaluate if you can distinguish different spectra of sounds. I failed all of them. I thought it was an interesting read. With that said, for those who own an external DAC, can you honestly say that you are able to consistently distinguish audio between your external DAC vs onboard DAC?
  8. Mine is on the way. I plan on buying the V-moda cable, it has a 45 degree angle and is wrapped in kevlar. Some durable stuff for $12.
  9. It should help with asthma, since asthma can be caused by irritants that cause the esophageal smooth muscles to contract. You should just get one if you have asthma. Before I bought a filter, I got hay fever from all the dust in my room.
  10. Cut the cord about a month ago. Now I just stream everything online for free. Best decision ever. Game of Thrones on HBO GO. "You know nothing Jon Snow" thats what my gf says to me...I dunno why, my name is Dean. lol
  11. O2 it is! Thanks for all the help
  12. Just googled Dxracer chairs, lol they look awesome. I wish I wouldve kept the seats from my Lexus, I couldve slapped some wheels on them and turned em into upgraded Dxracers.
  13. I had a HP laptop and it broke after 2 years. The CPU melted off the solder that held the videocard in place.
  14. Salicylic acid is used to clean your pores. BP is to clear up acne. Source: GF
  15. Practice being fast enough to not use the brake in between releasing the clutch and stepping on the gas.
