Its worth pointing out that the size of the planned asteroid is very small (7-10m wide). Still amazing to think about though!

What do you mean "kepler shouldn't entirely be behind maxwell by that much?"

Looking at the graphs, it's a few percent here and there...

You need to calm down with the conspiracy theories, the past few generations from AMD basically all use extremely similar architectures, if they optimize for only a few of their cards, basically every card benefits because of the extreme similarities.
The graphs at 1080p are super similar, 780 ti and 290x are extremely similar in the graph, and the 780 is just a tiny bit behind the 290, which isn't a surprise either.

The only graphs where the 290x and 290 are closer / ahead of 780 ti is at 1440p/4k, which having 512 bit buses makes sense.

It's also possible "back in the day" when the 290 was further behind the 780 ti, that the drivers back then weren't as good as Nvidias, and they've just merely closed the gap.

You seem a lot more preoccupied about how your card will stack up against the competition, rather than the experience you are getting which is the whole point.

Performance is not going to degrade with newer drivers, so if the gaming experience is good now what is the problem?

Sure newer more efficient cards may get closer in performance than the price gap indicates, but is that making your gaming experience any worse?

Also getting a much slower card for the sake tier uniformity is not the solution either.

    My opinion:

If all they're doing is denying ISIS and other terrorist groups access to the internet, fine. They are using it for horrible things, after all. But what concerns me about this is it's a foot in the door for the government. When the government is allowed to close off access to one group, it becomes easier for them to close off access to another group for lesser crimes, then another and on it goes. Hell, we already have useful idiots trying to censor everything they don't like and I'm sure the government is more than happy to oblige.
Just to reiterate though, ISIS should not be able to use the internet (particularly Twitter, mind you) to recruit more idiots into their cult, so I say cut them off but leave it at that. Don't take it any further.

You can only Crossfire GPU's ONLY if they are from the same GPU core architecture.

    You CANNOT Crossfire a R9-280 with a R9-380.
The R9-280 is based of the "Tahiti" core, while the R9-380 is on the much newer "Tonga" design.

You CAN, however, Crossfire a R9-280 with any of the following:
HD 7950 (all variants) HD 7970 (all variants) R9-280X R9-280 The R9-380 can only Crossfire with the
R9-285 R9-380 R9-380X AMD has not recently updated their "Crossfire Comparability Charts" to include the R9-300 series, but is still informative.

AMD Crossfire, also does not has have the same limitations as nVIDIA. You can have different VRAM, and asynchronous GPU Core, and Memory frequencies.

If you go Sapphire, as you should. Make sure you get the version with the back plate, same cost better performance. It's the only way to tell the first version from the second.

390x. I have an MSI 390x Gaming and it's very impressive. When I'm not gaming, the fans are off and it's quiet under load. It's got a huge heat sink, but be advised its a 2.5 slot card. Other than the Msi Gaming, I would recommend Saphire or XFX. However I can't recommend ASUS or Gigabyte AMD cards.
