Bahaha oops. CNN stole from the wrong guy. He's going to take them to the cleaners in court.
I'm unsure of how I feel about CBC involvement here. Assuming CBC did get the video from CNN under a license, and didn't violate that CNN license, then how could they have known? In that case, CBC would be just as much a victim as the video creator. CNN would be fully at fault.
But we'll see. If CBC knew where CNN got the video, or if CBC used it past the 10 day license anyway, then both could be at fault.

winningsince1337 got a reaction from Dinkleberg in GTX 970 or R9 390?
And that's really shitty of them. you could buy a top of the line card and then 6 months later having it run like complete shit on a new game forcing you to upgrade. AMD actually supports their cards via drivers.

Next month there will be a "performance restoration" tool that Samsung will include in it's SSD software, which is something you'll need to run every now and then when performance drops.

winningsince1337 reacted to ChineseChef in Google not implementing 'right to be forgotten' worldwide
The "right to be forgotten" is completely pointless and silly in the age of the unforgetting internet. Not all the search engines do it, and it only applies within the borders of the country demanding it, and the source is still up. So, it really only stops the most lazy of people looking for information on someone. I can see making laws that require websites to remove or correct factually inaccurate data. But all this law does is remove the index from the main search provider, heaven forbid I simply use a different one or simply use the US website instead of the (European country) website.
And for the argument of "what if you were wrongly accused of a crime", well, you were. That is factual info, it did happen. And honestly, I would also want the info stating that I was cleared of said crimes to be out there as well. Maybe we should look at not destroying people's lives before they are found guilty, instead of trying to hide and delete factual history.

winningsince1337 reacted to dalomo in The case against SSDs
Just because some current server software doesn't play well with SSDs doesn't mean we need to get rid of SSDs. It means that software needs to be updated. There's no real case against putting an SSD in a personal system.

winningsince1337 reacted to Misanthrope in Microsoft wants $1.49 a month to remove the ads it shows inside Solitaire on Windows 10
It starts innocently enough with Solitaire, soon enough it will be "pay to deactivate updates" (well actually you do have to pay extra for the professional edition already to deactivate updates) or "Pay to have access to the device manager or regedit" or "pay to deactivate sleep mode and hybernate" and so on and so forth.
Oh but oh boy DX12 let's just ignore all this shit and call this the best windows ever!
