  1. I estimate I could probably get about $550 for both of them so that's that. Yeah, I'd definitely downclock the 390
  2. I have been running 290s in Xfire but I hand to RMA my MSI 290 Gaming and they're sending me back a retail box 390x because they're out of 290s. So I've been looking up benchmarks and the only single card that'd better than my crossfire setup when it runs is basically a 980ti. So I've been thinking and I have a few options: Sell the new 390x and wait for something better. Keep the 390x and sell my 290 Run them in crossfire as before Sell both of them and get (insert card here) Something else you can think of What do you guys think I should do? The rest of my rig specs are in my signature and I game at 1080p. I'm also an fps and quality snob so I like to run everything at ultra over 60 fps. Personally just running 1 290 seems a bit laggy at times in the likes of Fallout 4 and it bothers me, which is why I was thinking of running the 390x as my main card which would be faster than the 290 then just have the 290 for crossfire when it runs. Edit: added poll
  3. This was a thread from April. Don't try and revive an 8 month old thread.
  4. That would be a problem but, AMD's more lax on the crossfire requirements so I'm still good to go
  5. Is that dealing with their RMA service in Canada? I know they contract out to other companies. I happen to be in the USA dealing with California based support so your mileage may vary.
  6. Just make sure you have a proof of purchase for the card and it was in the last 2 years lol
  7. I saw some guy with an R9 280 RMA'ed his and they upgraded him to a 390x too I do but, as I won't really be overclocking this 390x for daily use given I'll be using it in crossfire with my other 290. However, I'll see how good it'll overclock once I get it back
  8. My R9 290 gaming which is roughly a year and a half old went kaput and turned into an un-coolable flamethrower. So I sent it in for an RMA last month. And today I got this in an e-mail from support... Why yes, MSI I would love to get a 390x Gaming as a replacement TLDR: RMA'ed old 290, they ran out of them and are sending back a 390x. Took two weeks and was painless to RMA. No complaints here, 10/10 would buy MSI again.
  9. Faster. It's basically an i7-900 something
  10. Anything before GCN is no longer receiving updates. I believe you're not supported anymore.
  11. inb4 TouchWiz and all of it's K-Pop music video simulator animations make this SOC run at full tilt all the time that makes it get an hour and a half of SOT.
  12. The case has cancer and they're trying to make it appealing by putting Christmas lights on it and fake carbon-fiber like a Cholo on a Honda Civic. Kappa, real talk
  13. The only thing I'd do with a case like that is use it wipe my ass. Might even look better then *shrugs*
  14. Use the iGPU and install windows and drivers (just not intel graphics) and be ready to go when your GPU arrives
  15. At the end of the day it all comes down to two things: Accidents can and always will happen, and you can't make people have common sense.
  16. For that money you can buy a brand new 290 and mop the floor with the 960ti everyday
  17. I fly large enthusiast hobby grade model airplanes. If I stab myself in the eye with propeller, would a licence stop that? Hell no. Also who's gonna pay for this 'quad copter SWAT patrol uber safety enforcement' Agency? No government entity will want to. Why don't you just move to Germany where it's illegal to wash your own car, and buy an xbox while you're at it, in the words of Linus
  18. So tommy can't fly his foam airhogs quadcopter? That's a bit far...
  19. Murica' fuck yeah! Coming to save the mother fuckin' day, yeah!
  20. Yeah, I'm interested to see how cards from AMD turn out now that AMD acquired CUDA liscencing
  21. I do a fair amount of rendering in Vegas 13 Pro, and using a 290 to render is a huge help when it comes to time compared to just a 4770k. Vegas 13 has some pretty good Open CL support.
