  1. Yea my 970 is fine on some maps, but on other maps averages as low as the 80s even on lowest everything. @fasauceome
  2. Hey all, So I basically only play two games right now. I mean, I play other games but as far as performance goes these are the only games where performance matters to me, Rainbow Six Siege and Couter Strike Global Offensive. I am trying to get 120fps consistantly(ish) on even the worst maps, lowest settings. My current build is: Ryzen 3600 (3.2Ghz All Core) 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz RAM B450 Motherboard GTX 970 For those of you who have 1070s to 1080ti kind of graphics cards, what kind of FPS are you getting on the more intense maps like Villa or Coastline, especially when you have other players on screen? I don't want to spend more than $500, used for sure. Like I said, I play other games, but this is the game that I actually care about high FPS for. Thanks!
  3. Sweet rig. Davinci resolve is free and very powerful, takes advantage of graphics cards better than premiere. Premiere is more widely used, has a lot of great tutorials, and is (in my opinion) easier to pick up. It also costs a fair chunk of change, as others have noted.
  4. If you are a media pro, doing mostly photos, go for the D850. The Z7/Z6 is a great camera and in many ways is the future of Nikon. But as a pro, I would much rather have dual card slots and AF performance of the D850 than the creature comforts of mirrorless found on the Z6 and the Z7. 10bit video is a nice to have, but IMO, overhyped in the camera review world right now. Video AF on Z6 and Z7 is better, but you can always manual focus for video needs. With a true manual focus lens and some practice, you will get better results than you would with autofocus.
  5. Dont use a webcam. Use a normal camera and capture card. Any computer will be fine, but you need a somewhat modern processor to do video transcoding for the internet. OBS is a good free tool for broadcasting to youtube or facebook, but can take a little to learn.
  6. To continue with what @cc143 said, there basically is no camera with which you can take a picture of a person in front of a bright window, and have it come out looking good without significant editing. Pretty much all cameras with interchangable lenses will shoot RAW
  7. Confirmed. There have been lots of tests that show that cooling pads do basically nothing. On some laptops they will lower temps by 1-2 degrees, but this is within margin of error. Just make sure you don't sufficate your device on a piece of cloth.
  8. So this is a metering issue. On a camera, and even on most smart phones, you can set it so that the camera adjusts the brightness for a particular point. So on your phone, just tap on the person's face, and the window will turn white while their face is exposed properly. This is called spot metering. The alternative is to change the camera settings manually to adjust the brightness. Again, smartphones can do this to some extent with "pro" camera apps. The problem is that cameras can only "see" a certain range of brightness. When part of the scene is very dark, and part of it is very bright, it can't see both, so it picks one. More expensive cameras have a wider range. You can also use HDR or Exposure bracketing to get a wider effective range. Even a "real" camera like the a6000 won't be able to make a good image right away from that kind of scenario. You will have to bracket, or pick which part of the scene to expose for.
  9. Canon typically has 3 names for their lower tier cameras, and none of them make any sense. Canon does a lot of great things. Marketing isn’t always one of them,
  10. You can get SD card adapters for iPhone and Android phones if the camera does not have built in apps.
  11. Oh so he's a young kid! Then it doesn't matter. Young kids will do whatever they set their mind to, no matter how tedious and annoying it is. I remember making stop motion videos frame by frame in windows movie maker on my sisters Acer Netbook. There is nothing you can do to stop a child's creativity.
  12. Any gamer who is tricked into buying an i9, Vega 20 mobile, macbook pro thinking it is the pinnacle of a gaming experience is an idiot. There is no excuse for being so easily swayed by the weakest marketing attempts. The fake i9 isn't their fault, intel is the one who brands the chip.
  13. Is there any laptop that doesn't have QC issues, except for your precious Dells? Also I don't know what yall are talking about with Macbook Pro's having shit components. They keyboard design is a mistake, but aside from that those are really high quality computers.
  14. This is probably a debate for another time, but again I still thing there is a difference. Like if I forget to turn on manual ISO and I accidentally miss my exposure. Or trying to shoot video in bright sun. Or autofocus systems that differ between cameras. Or silent shooting during rehersals and weddings. Or being able to see my histogram in the viewfinder. No, it won't change the image I get out. But as a mostly amateur, the fun of shooting is just as important to me as my final image. But @cc143 you are right, there basically aren't good options in the mirrorless world.
  15. I think Mirrorless vs DSLR is one of the most important deciding factors. There is a distinct change in shooting style between the camera styles, and I would say it is as important as how good the controls are. What would you consider more important than mirrorless vs dslr? Image quality? AF performance? For @_Hustler_One_, I would second the reccomend for the Fuji cameras. I know, they are way out of your stated price bracket. If you need to stay on price, go with a Canon, I totally agree with @cc143 on that one. But the Fuji’s are easy to use, produce best in class JPEGs, and have great “low end” glass. Also I prefer mirrorless shooting.
