  1. I am looking to build a new pc for my sister She is not going to be gaming on it AT ALL. So please keep this in mind. It will be for playing videos on Youtube, web surfing, music, etc. Budget is $200-300 USD I would like to keep it to the lower end of this budget if possible. I already have a spare corsair CX430 psu I will be using in this build. I do not need any peripherals, monitor, or O.S. It needs to have vga and hdmi output, but does not have to be able to display both at the same time. Any help is appreciated.
  2. I've got a reference 290x on the way for a friend's build and he already has the kraken g10 and water cooler. He wants me to put heat sinks on the vrms and vram. Does anyone know what size sinks I need to buy? and how many? thanks ahead of time.
  3. Just putting my input in here. The parts you had listed before came to $585 so I have based this build around a $600 budget. I built this on pcpartpicker but you can buy the parts seperatly from wherever you want to. After rebates it came to $616, with a case. You didnt have a HDD/SSD or RAM/Memory listed originally so I dint list those either since I had to assume that you have them already. If not, just add 8gb of RAM 2x8gb sticks. And for the HDD just go for a 1tb and a small (250GB range SSD). Or just the HDD if you're not worried about the speed. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/PFQLwP If you're worried about the i3 just being dual core it has hyper-threading so it can act as a quad core under certain applications. The Z97 board is there so you can upgrade to a better cpu in the future. And the case is just my personal favorite under $100 usd. Also if you have the money go for a r9 280x or a GTX770 if you need to record gameplay with shadowplay.
  4. I haven't seen any bottlenecks as of yet, even in watch dogs both my cpu and gpu are maxed completely out. The 570 in most games maxes at 100% and the cpu stays around 70-90% usage. but it's my secondary pc anyways so it's not really a big deal I was just looking to upgrade out of the crappy hp motherboard and case.
  5. My secondary computer is an HP prebuilt. I am looking to upgrade out of the HP case(Since there arent very many fans or exhaust vents the interior of the case gets VERY hot) and already have everything I need except the new motherboard. What LGA1155 Motherboard would be the best to pair with the i3 I have? I'm pairing it with a gtx 570 and 8gb of ram if that matters. Thanks ahead of time guys!
  6. They're the evga super clocked 2gb. and yeah I got them mainly for bragging rights.
  7. I have 2 660tis in sli both of which have a kraken g10 with a corsair h50 quiet edition on them. How much are they worth? I'm looking to upgrade to the 800 series when it comes out and would like to have some extra cash to boot when the time comes.
  8. Thanks you all for the replies, I guess I'll stay with my 660ti's until I do a complete system rebuild!
  9. I have 2 evga superclocked gtx 660 ti's in sli, and I am wanting better performance all around and not just in games that support sli. I am gaming on a single 1080p monitor. Say theoretically I could get $400(USD) for my 660ti's should I get a GTX770? Or should I wait and save an extra $100-150 for a GTX780? Also I have had nothing but bad luck with graphics cards from amd so I would like to only have nvidia solutions suggested. Thanks ahead of time guys!
  10. Okay so I'm wanting to see if I can paint my vrm, northbridge, and southrbridge heatsinks on my motherboard, so it can match the rest of my build, Is there any specific paint that will work best? and will there be any negative effects if I do decide to paint? Also, the sinks seem to be kind of loose and I was going to see if using some thermal adhesive/epoxy would help with heat dissipation? Thanks ahead of time!
