  1. Well for me I have not seen any SIM Based Proper units that support DSL at the same time. But recently, I have upgraded my house's DSL Modem+Router unit. There is a lil interesting thing about this router that might possibly be able to help you. It's an Asus DSL-N12U B1. Its a DSL Modem Router combo unit with a usb port that actually supports a 3g dongle plugged into it to act as a failsafe. I know this isn't exactly what you are looking for but this is the closest I can recommend you to. Try digging around the internet more, with a few keywords in Google, you might be lucky on the searches.
  2. Really liked the design of the phone. Coming from a S3 user (ik, its not the best but I got it dirt cheap) Also HTC have never failed to impress with their launches of FlagShip models (HTC One X, One (M7) and now One (M8)) Last thing, good luck to all other who entered this giveaway C:
  3. Are we talking a desktop or laptop. If laptop most modern day PCIe WiFi Cards includes both of them. If desktop, you will need to dig around. This is because most internal WiFi Cards for desktop only includes WiFi capabilities and not Bluetooth. If you want both, you will be looking for something like this. http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Wireless-AC-Bluetooth-Adapter-7260HMWDTX1/dp/B00EKQN2KK Yea its expensive I know but hey it got Bluetooth and AC Wireless. And it is by intel. Just search around and probably you will find better deals than me. C:
  4. You could try dx.com I have been sourcing most of my device repairs (nawt computers) from there. They sell tons of parts for all sorts of things. Prices are quite cheap but if you ask if it is original, I can tell you NOPE. But the quality for that provided price is resonable and usable. It also provide free shipping too. Bad side is you had to wait for around 2 weeks Happy hunting. Ah what the heck, http://dx.com/p/sharp-replacement-upper-lcd-screen-module-for-ninteno-3ds-xl-3ds-ll-silver-218558#.UxCdN_mSxcg This is ze upper LCD screen ^ I have no luck in case tho, maybe you could find it.
  5. D: I have been beaten I've said that so I can somehow get someone to post something that is worst than mine so I don't feel like the one with a dinosaur old hard drive Still its very amazing of the posted results ._.
  6. looks like nobody haz beat my record O: I feel legendary (In other words old)
  7. My computer have not been turned off since build until now except for special days or some updates or some weird event happened
  8. ummm here's mine (This is the one with the longest power on period) Go figure
  9. I assume the LED Cables that you are referring to are the Front Panel I/O cables right? If so check and see if you have properly plugged each and everyone of it to their respective pins and the polarity of it too. Make sure +ve goes to +ve while -ve goes to -ve.
  10. But again, it is still worth a shot to see if the computer together with shipping fees from NCIX to Italy will cost less than what is offered in Italy. You can search around and find one that you feel it will match your liking and budget.
  11. When you the shipping is cross country, usually it's high. (eg. to ship things from US to my country, it will nearly cost as much as the item itself (around 100 USD or more)) So it is better to find a local retailer or some deals back in Italy to evade from high shipping fees and taxes (may or may not be charged).
  12. I think I shall recommend you the Sony Vaio Fit 13, its a 13-inch hybrid notebook (13 inch is the sweet spot between portability and screen size). I think it features a i5 as minimum and 128 ssd and 8gigs of RAMs. It can be a tablet and a notebook. And last time I checked its like around 1k USD (Might be promotions at my country) Sony recent launches are quite impressive and this model is quite light too. Good luck on your hunt Edit: Here is the link to the product. http://www.sony.it/electronics/vaio/vaio-fit-11a-13a-14a-15a You can configure and find the one that suites you from here. http://www.sony.it/buy/vaio-fit-11a-13a-14a-15a
  13. I guess it should be normal because when your pc starts it just loads the basic stuff gettin ready for windows to be deployed. When you login to windows i presume the software controller starts to kick in and start bringing down the speeds. Try looking intoyour bios and see if it has a dedicated fan controller there. I know my ASUS board has one so my fans are controlled even when the pc starts in bios.
  14. As a matter of fact, I actually kinda liked and voted for Win 8. Yes, Win 8.1 may have been better than Win 8 (8.1 did not appeared as an option here) but IMO I still liked Win 8 because of the speedy startup time thanks to the Semi Hibernate system it uses (Not everyone can afford an SSD and to make it worst I'm living in a country where these technological stuff is dang expensive). You may have your perspective and I may have mine. But there are good and bad for Win 8, good is where Win 8 is much more connected, I can have mailing and communications all linked out right after installation. As for the bad side, IDK why but after prolong usage of Win 8, the activation service (some service called Software Protection under Microsoft Software Protection Platform Service) that runs on the background tends to hog up the CPU up to 50% on idle. But after a quick Refresh (Win 8 version of Reformatting) and reinstalling the driver, this is not an issue to me anymore. As for other OSes, I liked different OS for different purposes. I liked OSX when it comes to creating Creative Arts related stuff (eg, Video Editing, Image Editing) and also music related. As for Windows, there are also different version when it comes to liking. In WinXP, I liked it for running some ancient software that just won't run on newer Windows (even with compatibility turned on). Then in for a much more general gaming environment I would choose Win7 and for normal quick daily usage environment I would actually choose Win8/8.1. Lastly as for Linux Distro, I actually liked BackTrack much more than others, I had a lot of issues with Ubuntu on my Computer but not in BackTrack (odd). I used Linux when it comes to things like more Terminal UNIX environment related activities, (eg, Building a Custom ROM for an Andriod Device, programming under FORTRAN, testing the vulnerabilities for my Company's websites and my personal websites and computer, etc) Basically Linux is a very flexible and extensive CMD for me. These are my opinions for different OSes, as for browsers I have no comments for it as I don't switch my environment that much.
  15. Well IF I were in your shoes, the first thing that I would probably do is list out the Pros and Cons of moving there. What would I benefit from it. What would I lose from it. Does the things that I'm losing is more important that what I'm gaining. Also try prioritising what is important. (Internet, Education, Money Issue) If you say moving that will kinda reduce the money issue I would say go ahead. As for internet wise you probably could live with that speed after a month or so. (TBH the speed that I'm having is MUCH MUCH MORE terrible that what is offered to you.) As for education I'm pretty sure there will still be options there. In the end its still comes down to you. You might not agree with my perspective and you will have yours. Choose one that you feel that it is the right thing to do for you yourself and for your family. And lastly, good luck to you.
  16. I used to had an issue with Wireless Versions of Brother Printer, try assigning a STATIC IP to it instead of going auto. When configuring, you choose manual instead of auto and key in the details that you would find in your computer wireless network settings. If you are on Windows 7/8/8.1, go to Network and Sharing settings, click on your connection then click Details. In there there should be IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway. Type exactly into the printer setting page for Subnet and Gateway. As for IP Address just assign one that is not used. For me is 192.168.1.100. If you are on XP, just double click on your network icon and it should be the same as above.
  17. Also just an additional note, that way of backing up usually dont back up the data together with it, A proper way that I know of backing up is by Rooting your Phone and using an app called Titanium Backup, with that app you can backup your apps together with the Datas then restore it when you formatted or installed cyanogenmod on it. But this is not recommended as Ti Backup usually will make the app crashes more often. Since its not working the way it suppose to work and the environment have changed. For most of these things you can visit to the xda-developer forum for SGN3 section and it will provide with Rooting Guide, ROM installation guide and tutorials, what to beware of, what to backup first jsut incase and much more. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3 Im pretty sure there is Cyanogenmod for Note 3 in xda andriod development section (correct me if im wrong) but they are not official version. They are nightly ports from members at xda. As for stability you can read at the respective forum thread there for more detail. Good Luck.
  18. Actually for these custom ROMs, the instructions can pretty much be found on xda sites. I will break down the details for each device. First off, the Chinese tablet you probably will not find any custom ROMs for it given that they aren't that famous. You can try figuring out the structure of the device (by rooting) to port Cyanogenmod over by yourself. Its a bit of a hassle but anyone who is quite familiar with Linux could probably pull it off. I did a port once on an Alcatel phone and it ran amazingly (still buggy tho). Next for the Galaxy Ace, yes there are KitKat ports in xda and yes you can download it. Just that they are in Alpha Stage which means a lot of things will not run properly. But there are also quite a lot of stable ROMs in xda, (eg, Xperiance Ace [iCS] ) To find out if there are stable, just read through the forum thread and it shall be quite self explanatory. One thing to be careful is to check the version of your SGA (eg, S5830 or S5830i). Those little mistake can make or break your phone. As for the I presume Galaxy Gio, it should be same as the Ace. The basic procedure in getting custom ROM for Samsung devices are usually (Root -> Custom Recovery -> Custom ROM). Read through the stickies there and usually guides could be found there. As for the HTC Flyer, it would be pretty much the same as above just one more step is added, which is Unlocking the Bootloader. Again all these information can be found in the Respective Forum section for the Respective Device. Hope that this could help you. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace - Galaxy Ace (Check for the version before proceeding) http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-gio/ - Galaxy Gio http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-flyer - HTC Flyer Go into the Andriod Development section to find custom ROMs, and remember to read all stickies which will provide you with a lot of information, guide and tutorials.
  19. Well you can get a much more detail explanation or guide if you can provide some details. eg, Brand of the Router/Modem, Model of the Router/Modem, what Operating System you are running on (include the bit version too), then also what version of Bukkit you're trying to get it up and running, are you planning on plugins, etc. With those details I'm sure people here can get you a quite detailed guide. Regards, JJunzXian
  20. Just on the safe side, you should even check the Health of your BootDrive/HardDrive. Most of the time Bad Sectors or Hard Disk failures will result in sudden hangs or BSOD. I had a 500 WD Blue died on me before for Bad Sector on the MBR. If I want to continue to use it, I had to reinstall windows on every reboot ._. Signs like reading files are slower than usual or accessing something took longer than it suppose to might also indicates that a HD is dying. I'm sure your MOBO and HD is new enough to support and have the S.M.A.R.T. feature in it. Just download something like SeaTools or HDTune to check the health of your harddisk.
  21. Well if I did interpret correctly, you did say something about removing the RAM stick will allow you to boot into windows. Why not just try to remove the RAM stick and boot into Windows to obtain the files or You can pull out the harddrive and insert that into another working computer to harvest out the .dmp files.
  22. http://www.networkworld.com/reviews/2013/041513-windows8-crash-268274.html The link above should probably assist you regarding this matter alot. Good luck on solving the problem and have a nice day
  23. In the improving wireless, I suggest adding another way. Putting a cooler below the router/modem. I've experience this, heat most of the time can get these devices not to function fully as they suppose to. A simple notebook cooler can add some airflow to it, reducing the amount of heat on the device itself. Next is the port forwarding part i'd like to add. Before doing the port forwards on the router, assign a static IP to your computer first. This is because most home users will just run things out-of-the-box. Which means they will use a DHCP server and will assign a different internal IP for the computer every time it connects. If you want to keep the existing port forward setting specifically to a certain pc, static internal IP will be better. And i'd like to add one more tips for others. Sometimes people will complain about transferring files through LANs is slow (eg 3mb/s) even though they have Gigabit connections or just any 10/100 connections. This is because Windows will usually set the speed to Auto Negotiate. Everytime windows detect some older connections, they will assign the 10mbps speed to the LAN connection instead of 100mpbs or 1gbps. You can change this setting by doing this. In Windows XP --> Right click your LAN connection and select Open Network Connections, then double click your LAN connection. After that click Configure, then navigate to the Advance tab and choose Link Speed/Duplex Mode. From there you can choose up to 100Mbps Full Duplex if you are on a 10/100 connection or up to 1Gbps/1000Mbps Full Duplex if you are on a Gigabit connection. In Windows 7/8 --> Go to your Network & Sharing center and click on your LAN Connection(Ethernet). After that everything is same as above. Most people will find this useless but for me when I'm copying large amount of Datas across the network (eg. Backing up a computer to a home server or copying games across computers), I found that this can save me lots of time. Other than that, Nice FAQ Thread you got here. Keep Up The Good Work
  24. One thing that affect these networking devices are the heat generated from them. Im using a 4G Broadband stick on a TP-Link Router. When i just stash it there running, its not stable at all. Disconnect and bad signals. But when you start to cool it off, it runs much more stable and faster. This applies to all sorts of different networking tools (Modem, Router) So you can try putting a fan underneath it or do some modifications to it (i put heatsinks on mine) or just put somewhere well ventilated. You can have some trial & errors to determine whats wrong with it. So you can tackle from these few different places: i) Heat ii) Software issue (Hard reset and redo everything) iii) Hardware issue (LAN Cable etc) So just try up on different solutions, you might be able to find a way to fix it.
