  1. I thought that was the point of most companies? The CEO is duty bound to try and maximise profits for shareholders, hence "make money any[1] way you can". [1] Legal, but no where is moral mentioned.
  2. Not with IPv6 it's not. No more subnetting, yay let's hear it for IPv6 !
  3. Compressing empty octets gives:- fe80::202:b3ff:fe1e:8329 not much better, but hey lack of addresses is a big problem IPv6 will solve this.
  4. @Hackzilla WTF is Bordem is it just boredom spelt wrong or is it some meme you youngsters (<snicker) are using today?
  5. When I did my HND in networking back in 2010 we had to learn about IPv6 as 'we' were running out of IPv4 addys, so five years ago (at least) 'they' knew 'critical addy' was on its way. People blindly stayed with IPv4 as it would have meant turmoil etc to change. . NAT can only do so much.
  6. Generally they are talking about the PSU plugged in (so it has an earth) but switched off at the socket on the wall. One in a gazzilion chance that the wall switch is FUBAR and the PSU is actualy powered (worth the one in a gazzilion risk?). Touching the case periodically whilst it is NOT connected to the mains is all that is needed, once you are actually working in the case you would have to work hard to avoid more or less constant contact with the case.
  7. NOPE! NOPE! NOPE! Tecnically it should NOT be grounded (you want to equalise the charge not ground yourself). In reality it doesn't really matter
  8. http://malwaretips.com/blogs/ads-by-lasuperba-removal/ Looks a bit involved but seems to do a thorough job. Next time double check that 'free' software download.
  9. A basic primer but covers (to a headline level) the salient points. http://www.bbc.co.uk/education/guides/zxxbkqt/revision/2 Note this is the second page which includes uniform fields.
  10. Also 10/10 for product knowledge Lian-Li do a special side panel that has an aquarium in it (no idea if this would support real fish or not; the fish supplied are plastic)
  11. Google IS never wrong. It is a search engine (well in this case), it cannot be right or wrong it can merely point you at various websites, some of which are correct, some of which agree with someones theories, some are out and out bunk.
  12. No it's not, breaking news is stuff that is happening now and you probably haven't heard about it. Breaking has nothing to do with the size.
  13. As 'The great Marvello' tech wizard.said- "It doesn't? Frack that's me knackered then"
  14. <mode:tin foil hat/the Tech> Yes just now, but when ...comes to power? <mode :off>
  15. <Mode:the tech> Who decides what is illegal or rather who will decide? Will the government in twenty years or so, decide that... is still legal ? <Mode:off>
  16. Spelling mistakes left in. Sounds a bit Linusy.
  17. Possible Raynauds (see a Doctor to eliminate this). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raynaud's_phenomenon Or maybe just the way your sitting is stopping the proper circulation or system fan(s) causing air to flow over your hands or... Really you could wear gloves (for choice finger less ones) as a short term measure but find the cause of this coldness rather than a work around of the symptoms.
  18. Take an image of the SSD it will stop you needing to download again all the updates to the OS. It would also let you use up to date(ish) drivers for all your components, (Depending on at what stage you take the image of course). Yes if it all goes "tits up" you can just do a full reinstall followed by updates and the latest drivers, so all is not lost. I would install, do all the updates, ensure I had the latest drivers, possibly install vanilla versions of my programs/games, then take an image so I didn't have to go through that entire process again. If there is really nothing of import on the HDD why have it at all? Swap/paging file? The HDD is just a source of noise/heat and something else to go wrong it will also affect every other component in your rig data cables, power cables , etc physically blocking/reducing air flow...
  19. AOL. I tend to be almost exactly the same as Kemoka. Replacing the drive if I feel it is failing in anyway (making a noise is a BIG sign of imminent failure), also have an image on a seperate drive (NOT the boot drive) in the PC and a backup on a USB drive and a copy of files/photos/videos etc that are irreplacable (boys when they were bairns etc) at my brothers in case this place is in a big fire or floods or some such. Paranoid moi?
