tuunade98 reacted to Coachdude in what will event viewer say if pc crashes from high cpu temps?
If the pc is connected via a UPS that would then imply your undervolt probably isn't fully stable. I don't have much experience overclocking and or undervolting personally, as I run all my hardware at stock, so perhaps someone more knowledgeable could chime in further, but from everything you've told me I'd guess your undervolt again probably isn't fully stable, and 2042 just exposed that. You can either test more/play more and see if you end up with any errors/further crashes, and adjust your undervolt accordingly, or revert to stock settings and see what happens. Things like this are really difficult to troubleshoot over a text based forum just because of how generic the error is, it could be a multitude of things, you'll just have to check and test on your own. Sorry if this isn't very helpful but there's only so much one can do without physical access to the machine.

I'll repeat though, it sounds to me like an unstable undervolt/overclock. Whatever you end up doing I hope you get it sorted. Cheers. =)

You have two options, you stretch the image to fill the left and right OR you crop the top and bottom off and zoom in. Both of these options look terrible to me.

watching a true widescreen film where it fills the screen naturally is the only true way to get what you’re looking for.

I also own a 3440x1440 display and use plex.

I concur. My negative offset for my 5900X proved unstable. I got a couple of random restarts, although they took over a week to happen. I've now got each core dialed in separately as one core could only handle a -10 while most could do -20 or more.

Download OCCT and run the large, variable AVX2 stress test for 15 minutes on each core individually (advanced options, uncheck all but one core, also set it to check both physical and virtual, disable the other options). If errors show up, your curve offset is not truly stable.

Here's a chart with RMA percentages for each vendor, Gigabyte has the lowest percentage among others at 2% so it seems like a great bet.
    Reminder that RMA =/= DOA.
While a DOA card will be RMA'ed, an RMA isn't always DOA
RMA includes any warranty coverage within the period, DOA means it arrived dead.

To be honest, only people with problems are the ones who are complaining and posting on the Internet. Generally those, who are happy, enjoy their GPU instead of posting on the Internet.

If there was an actual issue, that is present on large number/percentage of GPUs, there would be much more publication on it. So I wouldn't worry too much about it.

    tuunade98 reacted to Donut417 in Q75r or Q80r + plex
Just to add on to what @circeseye said above. Plex runs great on Firesticks and Rokus, have two of each in my home. The key is making sure the device supports the video and audio formats of what your trying to stream. For example we use the Plex DVR features and Live TV, its acutally how we get Live TV to all the TV's, its easier then runing coax to all of them. The issue is OTA TV is broadcasted in MPEG2 and the Roku sticks dont seem to do MPEG2, so when either of those devices watch Live TV the server has to Transcode. Which isnt an issue if your server has the power to do so. But its best to make sure all of your files are in formats that your streaming devices support.

Further more, Samsung has SHIT software for their smart TV's, my mom has a Samsung smart TV and its horrible, which is why she uses a Roku stick. I would suggest you look for a streaming device that supports what you want to do.

i know this both tvs audio wise are the same (hell majority of samsungs)
ARC Yes (HDMI 4) eARC support No Dolby Atmos via TrueHD via eARC  No DTS:X via DTS-HD MA via eARC No 5.1 Dolby Digital via ARC Yes 5.1 DTS via ARC No 5.1 Dolby Digital via Optical Yes 5.1 DTS via Optical  No   for audio your better going to the avr or bar then to the tv. going tv to your audio source is limited   windows and hdr is hit and miss. it does work with games and certain players. going from comp to tv for hdr10 isnt best, you get limited from the hdmi cable's bandwith so you sacrifice something for 10bit or 12bit like no 444 only 422 or no 60htz only 30htz.
but devices like firestick, roku, plex boxes do as good if not better then tvs onboard apps with hdr

ok so i managed to fix my problem. The windows 10 installation i had on my usb stick was quite old and because of that it was extremely unstable with ryzen. I created a new bootable usb with media creation tool and it seemed to come with a much more recent version of windows 10, everything runs fine now...

hmm what would you recommend me set it to? considering this is like a NAS kinda thing or server, i will rarely ever use the onboard gpu. Onboard GPU will strictly just be for troubleshooting purposes.

These are new parts for a PLEX server, I bought the mobo because it has 8 sata ports and was able to find it fairly cheap. I still haven't even updated BIOS so i'm thinking it could be that... I'll do that and also download bluscreen view. Thanks master disaster.

Just trying to troubleshoot my BSOD issue, I only have 1 stick of ram at about 2666 speed 8gb. I also noticed that windows is only showing "5.44 usable" instead of the full 8. Windows and Bios does recognize the full 8, but windows is only using 5.44. Anyway any heavy load, moving files etc etc blue screens the pc.

how the heck does 4GB sound enough for a modern system anyways? My system, albeit being full of unnecessary background tasks that I could live without, takes 6GB RAM just after boot. Even typical laptops for paper work are recommended to have 8GB memory, so your 4GB plan will not go well. Let alone being a multi transcoding + Plex server.

One thing to consider when shopping for a case with 8+ HDD bays is keep in mind that the case itself might support 8+ bays, however the brackets may be sold separately. If you do go with a case that requires additional brackets sold separately, check how much they cost and make sure they're available and you can actually buy them. No point if they're sold out or no longer available.

What capacity drives are you using? 20TB isn't much and can be done with only a couple of 6TB or 8TB drives.
