I do not have a Windows 8 disk, but will get one if required. Also, after checking the UEFI firmware settings twice, one to check and the other to put in on the 'optimal settings', I don't seem to be able to do so anymore. There is also no reliable computer repair store here in Batam, but I shall check in Singapore on Wednesday of this week, 2 days after this message.
I have read about others who have fixed this issue without losing all their data, and would like to do the same, or at least most of my data. Is there any way to back up the data in this state?
