Danielaustin1234 reacted to RevoltTrain in What should I upgrade
It will not help much in gaming, but it will make the computer as a whole alot faster.

That being the case, wait til October for the 9xx series to release which leaves you enough time to get the CPU/Mobo combo I suggested.

Well, your system won't and shouldn't bottleneck but I would strongly recommend buying an i5 4670k + Mobo combo before you upgrade your GPU. Then you buy the R9 290 because that performs a lot better. Lastly, you might want to consider buying an SSD at some point. -
Danielaustin1234 reacted to Jerakl in What should I upgrade
If there are any bottlenecks I would say it's either the CPU (small) or the Storage, and SSD would speed up loading times/boot times. An unlocked CPU is out for now because you'd have to buy a new motherboard to overclock it. I'd say you should buy an SSD.
And if you bought that 770 you might get a little CPU bottleneck. Hell I get a CPU bottleneck when playing PS2 and I have a 4770k and a 780.
PSU would be fine for the 770 though. I run my 470k/GTX780 off of 600w.
Also, MEMORYEXPRESS MASTER RACE

Upgrade your 4450 to a 4670k or 4690k and if you intend to do this by selling your 4450 then afterwards I would recommend getting one of those Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO or BeQuiet Black Rock thingies to match.

If you're unsatisfied with your setup, I'd recommend upgrading the GPU. Your CPU will be good as long as you're staying with a single GPU. So anything above a 270X will do. In fact i would go full on to a R9 290. Or stay with your 270X, it's not a bad card.

What other parts do you have in your PC? We could give better advice if we knew.

Those are the parts he has.
I'd say upgrade you're pretty good right now. If anything I'd upgrade the CPU to an unlocked i5.

Well it depends on the parts you have right now......post those and we will be able to help

Hey guys just wanted to share my PC. I put a lot of time and work and planning into this. It's almost done just awaiting a PSU cover and a custom GPU backplate. Also have a few more cables to sleeve.
here is the backplate I am awaiting.

Personally, I think it should cost that much all the time, everywhere.

Not just yet. Is your GPU OC'd, anti-virus running in the background, are you downloading, and are the audio drivers installed (can cause large issues in some games)?

no need to check it then, your CPU doesn't throttle before approaching 100°C.

Danielaustin1234 reacted to phillrulz in Computer getting huge framerate drops in all games
My CPU was throttled from Vrm hitting 80c but he hasn't over clocked so can't be that

If the game has to load a lot of crap yeah, ie: Battlefield, PlanetSide and that's the only thing I could think of other than drivers/OS that would cause it as the all the hardware is solid for performance.

also do one more thing, try one of those gpu benchmark programs and run it twice and see if u get the drop as well, just to make sure its not the game.

Danielaustin1234 reacted to AMICLG in Computer getting huge framerate drops in all games
Make sure all your drivers are installed also it might be that your HDD is just too slow so it can't load eveything fast enough.
8GB of RAM is more than enough for games, I've never see any game use above 6GB on ultra settings.

GPU at 100% isn't that unusual when gaming and shouldn't cause a 20 fps drop though... someother things you could try are to leave the task manager performance tab open while gaming, see if anything spikes up to 100% at any time. Also check for viruses/malware, anything that could be using up recources in the background. Finally, make sure you're on the latest beta drivers for the GPU, if you are try downgrading to older ones.

I also have 8 GB of RAM and watch dogs will use it all up if I have only a few things such as spotify and origin open in the background.

If your using Chrome of course, Chrome uses more RAM than most games with only 15-20 tabs open.

Check CPU for thermal throttle?
-
Danielaustin1234 reacted to nj4ck in Computer getting huge framerate drops in all games
Sounds a little like what happens when you run out of RAM. Run a test on it and check how much of it is being used when the fps drops.
