  1. Yeah they did mention that. Sucks that they removed some of the really useful features though, but I need some of the new features like CPU Voltage offset that's only available in the new BIOS.
  2. Hey guys, need some help. CPU: Ryzen 7 2700X Motherboard: MSI X470 GAMING PLUS (MS-7B79) I updated my BIOS today so that I could undervolt the CPU, but it seems like the BIOS update has somehow made the ASmedia USB controller disappear. It is not in device manager and no devices seem to work when I connect to it. There is power but I've tried plugging in a mouse, a HDD and it doesn't seem to work. Right now I'm running version 7B79vAC and I was running 7B79vA6 before that. I've tried updating my chipset driver (both from AMD's website and MSI support) and both doesn't work. Also the new Click BIOS removes a lot of features which were nice to have. - Removed profiles - Removed UI for Smart Fan Control (there's no graphs and stuff and now looks kinda terrible and hard to configure, why...) - Removed the whole theme of the BIOS (kinda looks ugly now IMO) I could downgrade the BIOS to 7B79vA9 (before the Click BIOS update), but apparently Precision Boost Overdrive isn't working on that version... (I've tried this version first before upgrading to the Click BIOS). More importantly, need some help with my 2 rear USB ports. Thanks (I can't post on the MSI forums for some reason... D:)
  3. I have no HDDs right now (still being delivered) so I can't tell if it manages to POST.
  4. Hi, I just received my NAS and it comes with 2GB of DDR3L 1600MHz RAM. I have 2 sticks of 4GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM and was thinking if its compatible with the NAS. It's a QNAP TS-251+
  5. Thinking about these 2. There is quite a big price difference between the two at least on amazon. Just wanted to know how much would the upgrade from a dual core to quad core affect real world performance? Also, I noticed that the P2 can support upgrading RAM (I have SODIMM kits lying around) and additional expansion drive things, and was wondering how much would that affect upgradability. Is the extra cost worth it? Also anyone else that can recommend good NAS for around the TS-231P's price level with better hardware, that's welcome too.
  6. Getting these errors randomly on my computer for quite a while when trying to accessing some of my files. It does not happen to only one particular drive and can happen to multiple at a time. It's quite annoying as I have to restart my computer to be able to access those files. The full error is "(some directory) is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error." These are the events I found in the event log. The system failed to flush data to the transaction log. Corruption may occur in VolumeId: I:, DeviceName: \Device\HarddiskVolume8. (The I/O device reported an I/O error.) The system failed to flush data to the transaction log. Corruption may occur in VolumeId: G:, DeviceName: \Device\HarddiskVolume10. (The I/O device reported an I/O error.)
  7. Hi, was wondering if I could ground my TV. It comes with a 2-pin plug and it has been constantly giving me a shock. Usually when I disconnect or connect a device, I accidentally touch the metal part of the HDMI connector and I will receive a shock. I know that HDMI does carry a small current but this also applies to other connections. For example, if I wanted to charge my PS4 controller and I accidentally touch the metal part of the Micro USB, I receive a shock (through the HDMI that is connected between the TV and PS4). Also trying to connect a USB drive to an Android TV box, accidentally touching the metal part of the USB port gives me a shock. Anyone has a solution for this? Today I just received a really heavy shock when trying to plug a USB Drive to the android box that I felt from the tip of my fingers to my chest. It wasn't pleasant.
  8. Hi, I have mapped my OneDrive storage as a network drive on a Windows 10 computer. From what I've read it uses WebDAV to make this happen. However, I have not been able to transfer large files (200-500MB) onto OneDrive using this method. After transferring it would return with a message saying that the file could not be located or found even though it is still in place there. I have already increased the file size limit using this support page (https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph/help/2668751/you-cannot-download-more-than-50-mb-or-upload-large-files-when-the-upl) Help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. If I were to buy a new CPU, I would have to replace the motherboard and RAM. It is a very costly upgrade. Of course it would make sense for me to try to get as much juice as possible from my current CPU. And my mistake, I thought I wasn't gonna overclock because I was uncomfortable with it years ago. I will buy a K skew this time.
  10. I'm also just stress testing to find out the max turbo I can reach. There are reasons why someone would stress test even a locked processor, maybe a change in cooler to test its performance. You might say the stock cooler is enough but in a hot country like mine, a non-stock one would allow the processor to turbo even further because of temperature. Why do you have a problem with me asking this question...
  11. I am facing some bottlenecks in games and I want to pull out as much as possible from this processor. I was able to turbo all cores to 3.88 GHz in the past before under AIDA64.
  12. Hi guys, I was able to run an AIDA64 stress test on a i7-4770 non-K cpu and get all cores boosted to 3.88 GHz before. Now, it is only boosting until 3.67 GHz. I have resetted BIOS settings and temperatures are around 70 degrees under load. Any idea why?
  13. Actually found out the power supply is a TFX PSU, so might be upgrading that. So I just need to find a single slot card since there's not alot of room. It was housing a GT 620 before.
  14. Well can't it's a prebuilt with a non standard PSU.
  15. Ah I see, I know how to do CPU undervolting but isn't it usually locked for the GPU?
  16. Not thinking of getting a GTX 1030 instead since it won't run the games I plan to play.
  17. Hi guys, I'm upgrading a PC but it has a 220W power supply with an Intel i5-3470. Looking for a GTX 1050 that is single slotted and has a lower wattage (if it even exists). Can't upgrade the power supply as it's a prebuilt.
  18. Is there a version of the 1050 which uses less power? I also need a single slot card for it to fit.
  19. Well looks like everyone is telling me to upgrade the PSU. It's a prebuilt so even the power supply has a weird form factor. My friend already has another gaming laptop but isn't too powerful. It won't be worth it to upgrade to a GTX 1030 as his laptop beats that. I guess I'll not upgrade it since it's too risky.
  20. Is it still advisable to upgrade? Even if it's not under the recommended PSU wattage?
  21. I have an old computer from Acer with a GT 920 and an Intel Core i5-3470. It has a 220W Power supply and was thinking if I can upgrade the graphics card to a GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti. The power supply calculator says wattage load would be 213W and recommended would be 263W.
