If youre going to be recording video, go with Canon. Nikons video features are gimped. As for the lens, the kit lens works fine unless youre going to be doing really close up macros.

Has anyone actually bothered to find out what Strix meant in Asuss product lines? Haha well I did.

"In Ancient Roman and Greek legends was a bird of ill omen, product of metamorphosis, that fed on human flesh and blood."

In Greek it is translated to owl.

"They are birds with long golden beaks that they use to suck the blood of infants, their favorite victims. They also have wings, usually red, and four black legs, all with clawed feet. Their eyes are yellow and round, without pupils."

I personally went through this about a year back when I bought a 2008 Chevy Cobalt. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself just look up a few subs online and see if you can try any in Best Buy. I got a JBL 12" Sub because after trying a few it was the right amount of bass for me without getting too unruly, having it cranked all the way up starts vibrating my rearview mirror and spoiler and makes it so the mirror's nothing but a blur...which obviously isn't too smart.

The only thing I can suggest is to go to an actual auto shop once you've picked your parts (sub, amp - the shop supplied really good wire for me). I asked a few friends who had gotten a sub installed and everyone that went to Best Buy was disappointed and had to go to an auto shop within a few months to get various things re-done as the jobs done were quite amateur. Various things like it being super visible where they had cut and hidden the wires for the amp and using really cheap wire. Obviously it depends on the experience of the people working at the specific BB but an auto shop is more likely to have competent people imo as they usually have a specialized audio expert.

Doing it yourself is pretty unruly as there's a lot more to just knowing how to set everything up. You'll want to hide the cables neatly, get a custom box made for your sub and a custom "shelf" of some sort for your amp. Personally I couldn't have done all that for the price they did the job for me.

Only other thing I'd think about first is if you only want to do the sub get a mono-amp. If you think you'll eventually upgrade the speakers in your car too you'll want more than a mono-amp otherwise you'll have to add a second amp to your car later on and if the '09 Cobalt is anything like my '08 the trunk is super small as is!

From my personal experience it is just better to build one yourself if you are handy, but if you are not just go for ikea. I personally like to build my desks but that is just me.

Same. No one at my school etc. are into computers and it sucks because then you have to rely on online communities like LTT which is exactly a bad thing.

Its where you connect something to something else and then linking more things together. For example "daisy chaining" headphones if they have and input and output on them. Connect on pair to the output source, and then connect more headphones to that pair.

This is a recently released commercial put on by Intel. It shows demonstrations of their new RealSense technology that may change the way we use our computers forever. The commercial shows Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory interacting with a laptop by only waving his hands. It shows him waving his hands to control a fighter ship type thing in a game.

On Intels website, they go into more depth of the technology including amazing picture refocusing, 3d photography, and being able to measure something with just a photo.

According to Intel, this tech is coming soon so we should be expecting expecting this around mid-2015. Very very exciting, Luke would be all over this.
