  1. My Logitech G502. Was planning on buying a new mouse but not this one. Got it for ~50€ instead of 60€+. Fortunately I don't regret it so far, I usually never buy things spontaneously.
  2. Repost. Has been covered during/shortly after CES 2015 -> http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/287876-most-innovative-ces-2015-mad-catz-rat-prox-mouse/
  3. Quite confused for a few seconds. Thought I still had JayzTwoCents' forum open.
  4. I want that on my glasses. Mistook it for that spray-on coating.
  5. It's not the first time that something like this happened. Everytime I read about someone dying in an internet cafe it's a) after 3 days and b) somewhere in Asia.
  6. Wouldn't it be better to just wait for the 370/X to come out or to buy a 380X? AMD did the same thing with the 285 which doesn't get that much attention (mainly because it's a bit more expensive than the 280 and only has 2GB). Doesn't look like a step forward.
  7. Just a projector that doesn't require a single flat surface, rather than any surface. Sounds to me like they're over-selling it quite a bit. Or it's just me being absolutely not interested in a gimmick like that (I also find the monitor in the center of the projection annoying).
  8. I kinda like the low profile keys (like on my MS Sidewinder X6) but - in addition to the space bar - it doesn't look like you will be able to just swap them out for other key caps that easily (if you even can). That, plus the $200 pricetag are the reason why I will most likely don't buy it.....which is unfortunate because I wanted a mechanical keyboard with low profile keys.
  9. I have a feeling that this won't sell very well. Nice to see that it's size-adjustable for tablets but still...that price-tag is ridiculous and none of the features justify it - at least for me.
  10. If Sony and MS would include backwardscompatibility there wouldn't be a need for such a service. Just let us play the games we already own on new consoles (was possible on the PS2/early PS3 and X360 with limitations; even Nintendo does it to a certain extent on their handhelds). But doing that is just not profitable and they rather screw over their customers. That's how I see it. But what bothers me more is the streaming part. If you want to use that service you'll need a connection with 5-12MB/s. Depending on the country/ISP that could be expensive (you'll maybe even need to upgrade). Plus, you'll be paying regardless if you're actually using/able to use it (e.g. because of internet outage, broken console, etc.). For me there's too much dependency on multiple factors. I'd rather just buy the console and games used. Or, you know....emulators.
  11. Finally got myself a nice screwdriver with lots and lots of bits (plus, it has a ratchet mode). PAnd it was pretty cheap, only ~10€.
  12. Have you seen the video from TekSyndicate? They mounted a Retina display to a PC. Maybe you can use some tricks they used.
  13. Had to use a zip-tie on the CPU power cable so it doesn't touch the RAM. With the 140mm fan blocking the passthrough above the motherboard I can't route it behind the motherboard tray.
  14. Or got the AMD route with the FX8350. Add as much to the total price as you want for a case you like. 15. Just don't get the Kingston SSDNow V300 that @Rodneyg87 put in the build. Might look like a good deal but the write speeds are on the same level as some faster HDDs. Not. Worth. Better get a Crucial MX100, Samsung 840 Evo, Kingston HyperX 3K. This looks like a better deal than the V300 -> http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-internal-hard-drive-cssdn120gbgtxbbk (~$55 from NCIX).
  16. No problem! Hope it helps. It's a shame a product from a company like Dell has such issues. I really like my new monitor but a bit disappointed in Dell because those problems (luckily for me it was more like a "read the manual, you dumbass"-situation) taint the otherwise great user-experience. There are also a lot more complaints about issues with Dell monitors on the web (malfunctioning DP ports, that color range issue, faulty buttons, etc.).
  17. If I remember correctly it's just the other way round with nVidia GPUs. DP1.2 should be enabled because otherwise the monitor will be detected as an HDTV and the color range will be reduced (no matter if it's connected via DP or HDMI). This article might be helpful for you (found it while looking up solutions for my problem): https://pcmonitors.info/articles/correcting-hdmi-colour-on-nvidia-and-amd-gpus/ According to a review, even the 780 still has the same problem (only showing color range for HDTVs) when connected via DP -> http://pcmonitors.info/reviews/dell-u2414h
  18. I don't have any issues since I uninstalled DDM, Everything works fine now. Not much of a loss, didn't use the features anyway. Just googled a bit more and on a German page someone stated that "Enabled Displayport 1.2 is not supported by DDM". That might have caused those "lags". That nVidia GPU issue doesn't really concern me, I have a AMD R7 260X. I installed DDM 1.20.1450 again with DP1.2 disabled. I was offered to download a newer version but I'll test this one first to see if this might be depending on the version. Waiting for the issues to appear again. I'll upate in ~30min-1h (shouldn't take that long IF the issues appear at all). Edit: Update: No issues whatsoever. Looks like DDM really fucks things up if DP 1.2 is enabled.
  19. Two days ago I got my new monitor (Dell U2414H) shipped. Setting it up and installing drivers and stuff couldn't have been easier but about 3 hours later the monitor was acting up. First the mouse cursor didn't move anymore (or only occasional and inaccurate), same for the keyboard. So I had to press the reset button but I didn't get a post displayed, only the message "Engergiesparen aktivieren" (which is German for "activate power saving"). The only way I got it to work again was by connecting it via HDMI (enabled/disabled Displayport 1.2 in the OSD too, didn't do anything). But then the screen was significantly smaller (the scaling was off and had to be adjusted with AMD Catalyst Control Center). Changing the input to mini-Displayport only got me a black screen and the power saving message from before (with the cable connected), while every other port (normal-sized DIsplayport and the second HDMI) showed "no connection found". After a short google search I found out that some Dell monitors have problems with Displayport and that the mini-Displayport cable it comes with ain't of good quality, so I decided to order a new one the next day and went to bad. But later I found out that this doesn't seem to be the case with mine. When I turned on my PC the next day I was greeted with the blue log-in screen from Windows 8.1 but there was nothing I could login to. Reset, same again. Switched to mini-Displayport, reseted again and it suddenly worked. But today things got messed up again. Suddenly I had severe lags (not in games, but on the desktop and in Firefox.....but I think it wouldn't have made much difference which application was running). Suspected Adobe Flash but that wasn't the cause of the problem. DDM (Dell Display Management) advised that I should use a supported monitor (which I was already using). Uninstalled it and now it works fine. Has anyone else encountered any of those problems?

For (bass-heavy) music? Yes. For gaming and movies? No. A week ago I had the opportunity to compare my M40x with my cousin's AKG K601. While I prefer my M40x for music, the K601 are so much better for movies and especially gaming (because they're open). The K601 are also much more comfortable (but I guess that's true for every pair of AKG headphones with velour earpads and that kind of headband. The M40x have quite some clamping force on them and can become very uncomfortable after a few hours, while I could wear the K601 for days without a break. Before I was able to try a pair of open headphones I was like "I don't get why everyone (especially Logan from TekSyndicate) advocate/recommend open headphones for gaming so much. The M40x are just fine for that." But man, you really want open headphones for gaming. The soundstage is so much bigger. Also, as long as you're onboard soundcard ain't broken or utter crap you're gonna be fine with it. The M40x are have an impedance of 35 Ohm while the K601 have 120 Ohm. But even with that much impedance my onboard soundcard (Realtek ALC892 Audio Codec) had no trouble driving the AKGs. Just keep in mind that you'll need a microphone if you replace your headset. Logan and Tyler made 2 videos about replacing a headset with headphones + mic for $50 or less and $150 or less ( -> https://www.youtube.com/user/razethew0rld/search?query=gaming+headsets+suck ).
  21. If you can try them in a store. I like the bass of the M40x much more than of the K601, to me it sounds more "punchy" and full (might be a bit due to the fact that the K601 are semi-open, while the M40x are closed), for others it might be too much. I might not be the best person to describe the sound signature of headphones since I only got recently more interested in audio myself, so someone else who's more experienced will be able to describe them better (regarding terminology and experience/trained ears).
  22. MIght've been better to use a different terminology. "pain" is a bit exagerated, it's more a "discomfort", but what headphones will not feel a bit uncomfortable after wearing them 1/4 day without a break? Yes, there are more comfortable headphones out there (I happen to have the AKG K601 right now for testing, which are nicer to wear - velour ear pads, less clamp force), but I wouldn't call the M40x uncomfortable, as long as I make occasional breaks and take them off for a few minutes. After all, they are closed headphones.
  23. Afaik, the M50x come with a 3rd cable (1.2m or so), the M40x only with 2. Another difference is the swivel-mechanism on the ear cups: the M40x rotate only 90° in one direction (to the front), while the M50x rotate 180° (front and back). The M40x are also a bit lighter. (and the silver ring on the outside of the ear cups is bigger on the M50x) I like my M40x, especially for Rock music, because they have more oomph on the bass (in comparison to, let's say the AKG K601). No need for a portable AMP, they work just fine with phones/mp3-players because they only have 35 Ohm impedance. They were a bit uncomfortable at first (right after I got them) because the clamp force was too strong, so I set them on box of CDs and let them "stretch" (the box was a bit slimmer than a human head) for a few hours. Since then I can wear them 5-7 hours with only mild pain.
