Actually, the only relatively recent games I've played much at all, as in, more than a few minutes, are Team Fortress Classic, Team Fortress 2, Fortress Forever, Counter Strike:Source, Descent:Underground, Rocket League, and I can't remember what others.  (If you want to look at my steam profile / games...)  I think I've "played" 3DMark on steam more than I've played D:U and RL combined.
Part of that is because from March 2012 to February 2015 or so, I didn't have a computer capable of playing games.  Part of it is also because I do other things with my time besides just gaming.   Also I don't like dropping $40-60 a pop on games.  *IF* I buy games, I prefer buying them at like $5-15 or so, although I'll go up a bit if I really like something.
 
I prefer spending the bulk, as in 90-99+% of my money, on hardware.  For example, I'm looking at getting a GPU in the next couple months, and getting more into 4K video editing. I'm considering the GTX 1070, RX 480 (if my fears that it has a 150W TDP are false), or the as-yet-unannounced RX 470/490 or GTX 1060/Ti.  Total budget, including any video editing software I'd buy, would be $400.  If I got the 1070, it'd rule out the FE, as well as buying Vegas or Premiere.
 
I also like keeping my hardware a long time.  I saw someone's post on another site where they don't upgrade unless it's a 10% performance improvement.  For me, I look for more like a 400-1000% improvement. If I'd had a GTX 470 or newer, I might not get the 1070; although, the improved heat/power might make me upgrade from something as recent as a 770.  (I may post another thread in the GPU forum closer to the time I'm thinking of buying, idk when yet.)
 
Some older games I used to like include Total Annihilation, Commander Keen 4, Captain Comic, Sopwith, Life & Death (one where you performed appendicitis surgery - I think we got this one when we found an old 20MB hard drive on the side of the road, and this game was on it), etc.   I used to play a lot of the older DOS games back in the day.   I also played a few BBS games - those things where you dial into a specific computer with your modem, pre-internet.  One game me and my brother used to both play was Tradewars 2002.

It was overhyped, overrated, overrall a regular game. Devs were really fucking lazy.

yeah i play a lot of it too but its not THE game for me.

i just noticed that my cpu is 1.4375V wich is really high. Thats the problem.. Sorry. Strange, i swear I didnt change anything in the bios like forever..

incredibly hard to grasp, many people can't grasp how big the earth is in the first place. They think flying in the plane 20km above the surface should be enough to see the curvature of the earth. 

I read every space related book in my middle and high school library. Answer this. Your standing on a train moving at the speed of light. You start walking on top of that train. Are you then moving faster then the speed of light? Trains speed + your speed right... wrong. By adding energy past C you move still only at the speed of light and relative time of the train slows down allowing you to walk "faster" then the speed of light when viewed from an outside observer....

You are the exception, in which case it would be just as boring.
