  1. I'm not sure then, sorry I couldn't be of more help.
  2. I'm not sure about W10 but USB3 isn't normally plug and play and needs a driver to work. I'm not sure maybe email microsoft or asus and ask for help
  3. Same but with blues. Best keyboard ever IMO
  4. Have you downloaded the right USB3 drivers for your motherboard?
  5. A shop down the road from me has these for even cheaper and they work out to $101usd. Going to go get them soon.
  6. Looking for a new set of speakers for my computer has to be either 2 or 2.1 channel. Preferably a more subtle design but not essential. I want something that sounds fairly crisp but I know my budget will be kind of limiting to anything really good. Then don't have to be crazy loud. Mostly after them for movies, some single player games and a bit of music every now and then.
  7. + Pioneer I have an older Pioneer single din unit it had dvd with a pop out screen probably 2011 model that was a fairly high tier range. It is the best head unit I have ever had, still works fine even after years of abuse with stupidly low and hard suspension and big subwoofer setups.
  8. Temps under gaming are great. Temps at idle seem a bit higher then normal but I don't think there will be much you can do about it. Also they are overall very safe temps so there isn't anything to worry about. What voltage are you running? I have a 4670k 4.2ghz at 1.17v and even at idle with higher ambient like 30c I barely see idle temps that high. At 20c I'd be expecting around 35c as a normal temp. EDIT: I also use the same cooler
  9. The Gigabyte card will do fine. Have a look at one of these PSUs http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220gs0550v1 http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-110b20750vr http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/antec-power-supply-hcg620m http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1650xxxb9 http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/super-flower-power-supply-sf550p14xehx
  10. Id recommend a different PSU as the NEX line isn't very good look at the EVGA 750w B2
  11. I was actually shocked at some of the prices that come up when I googled their part numbers. I wouldn't try and mod it. I will put up some photos up in the morning at the moment it's the middle of the night here.
  12. It does look like it would have been a workstation style PC. I would love to get it to a working PC again if I could do it for a reasonable price. Wow I didn't even realize after spending ages looking over the PC and I even have a compaq laptop as well

They have got some lesser quality parts in them then some other PSU but I doubt it will fry anything. They normally just shut off randomly if temps get around 35c and above. If you can make your PSU draw air from outside of the case instead of inside it will help heaps as in case temps can get crazy hot even in mild gaming sessions
  14. Taking the heat sinks off is easy as just make sure you clean everything and put new thermal compound on before putting it back together. I strongly recommend not painting the back of your GPU PCB they actually get really hot and paint isn't gonna work.

It's a little bit dearer but it's a very good power supply and has a good rebate going at the moment on Newegg. Has a 5 year warranty as well. https://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-110b20750vr
  16. Apparently nail polish will melt at 120c, nothing will get close to that hot. I just had a look at the mobo you are using and trying with marker first should be easy enough but if it was me I'd take the heat sinks off with the screws on the back of the motherboard and spend the time masking it up and then paint it

    gtx 970

Agreed. If it's a custom PCB that's a bonus but just get which ever one you think looks the best
  18. I would say nail polish would be much more effective and I struggle to see a permanent marker being able to a good job. Pro tip though if you use nail polish practice a lot before you put it anywhere near your PC, maybe even ask a girl you know that might be able to help or give you tips as using nail polish isn't as easy to use as it looks and it's super hard to get off. Don't ask me how I know this but I do.

It will power that GPU with no worries but just be aware the CX series PSU struggle in hot climates and are only rated to 30c ambient temp.
  20. Linus has a few videos on painting hardware and Paul's Hardware has one on painting PSU cables. Just be prepared for a lot of work and if you cut corners especially on the preparation work it will show a lot and look dodgy.
  21. I think that is just a currently unchangeable limitation of IPS, the other bonuses out way a few extra millisecond response times
  22. The CX series are only rated to work at 30c ambient, if it gets remotely hot where you live the PSU will just randomly shut down.

I may have to kill Bill Gates now!

I'm sure you will be able to find an ISO or an old install disk but you won't get it off Microsoft's site. The only way I found to get a download for a W8 ISO was some dodgy download over a purchase on eBay so I'll give that a miss.
