ah right, yes, then if its like that then a SSD is best for u. especially since u got an external storage device..and in this case, since its not an urgent requirement for u, i'd suggest wait it out for as long as possible to get the SSD with the higher storage space. If it was me, i'd wait, esp.if its not urgent, cuz i like to have as much space i can have provided it comes within my budget

u can get the lower variant that is available now and expand ur storage with a traditional hard drive of like 1tb or something capacity at a later time if that is an option. Because i personally like to do something like that cuz SSDs life is less compared to a HDD if u Write on them often. Just reading from SSD is fine (which is why i only store operating system, some heavy software and games that require too much time to load) on an SSD, but i use a traditional HDD for everything else. (videos, photos, large files that move around a lot, etc.)

that goes without saying...and its the same for the 480gb variant as well and for any other storage devices for that matter. I have never seen a storage device in which u get the full advertised storage capacity ever, cuz it reserves bit of space for system files/cache or whatever..

i'll wait and see for replies from few more people (cuz i am simply interested to hear from various people) till the very last minute i actually buy the parts (which would be like in the next 2 days) after which i'll mark this post as solved

i see! yeah, exactly my thoughts right now its not much, like monthly installments that i need to pay my bank back without the 650w corsair psu is gonna be 2.6k INR and WITH the 650w psu, it would be 2.8k INR.. issue is, that extra 200 that i save, on the long run would be nice cuz its a 24 month loan on which i need to make all of the parts purchase using credit card. So that is 4800 INR saved + some extra interest based rate. I know it would be nice if i could get the 650W now but oh well, it is what it is eh

i see, ok then..i shall think really hard on it. I am gonna make this purchase and pay my bank for it on monthly installments, hence the reason i am being so very extra careful on how much extra i spend on a already doubled budget than originally planned lol. Because my siblings already have a even lower-end computer currently than my current rig, i just thought it would be nice if i could give them my current computer as for them it would be a decent upgrade. But considering the little bit of extra cost that comes with it, i'd have to ask myself whether my current computer needs to be in a working condition or not for the next 10+ months. actually that's the thing, i dont really plan to upgrade anything major after today for at least a year...and i think i can upgrade psu then if need be (if that is the only real issue here)

Like, the psu i have currently (corsair vs450W 80+ white) was priced at around 3.5k INR when i bought it few months ago..the 650w psu that i have my eyes on costs 7.8k WITH the computer cabinet/case that i need (its a bundle offer) so there is simply no way i can afford a psu that costs me 20k INR right, i see! hope the psu that ur looking for comes in stock asap...that is if u still need to buy it that is.. yeah right, to be honest, i am afraid my only two choices are : A) i either keep my current psu as is to not go even more above on the amount of money i need to spend, because i have really done that more than enough lol but it would mean my current computer will not have a psu in it anymore, and i'd have to pack it up and store it away till i can buy a psu for it. or B) since the bundle offer for the 650w psu i listed before means i get it for a steal-price, and since i need a case/cabinet anyway, this choice would mean i need to pay a little bit of extra money to get the 650w psu which would enable to me give my current computer to my siblings, so that they can game on it --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the only real reason i wanted to ask advice regarding this wasn't cuz i wanted to know which psu i wanna get but was cuz i wanted to know whether my current psu would be sufficient or not, cuz any money i can save at this point is really good...but if my current psu is insufficient, i can spend a little-bit extra to get the 650w psu in the bundle offer. So the 80+ certifications are not really that important at this point, but what is important, is the fact that 450w vs. 650w (both of them, even tho are white rated, still from corsair, so quality wise there is no downside in between them) As @mahyar suggested before, a 500w bronze rated psu i guess i could look for, but it wouldn't have be around the 3.5k price range, meaning all of them would be 80+ White...so in that case, there would be no point in upgrading just 50w (from 450w to 500w), so the only choices are that i either keep the 450w and save money or get 650w bundle, leading to a bit extra money being spent but giving me the option to keep my current computer in working condition.

Budget (including currency): Originally Planned 30k to 35k but due to lack of parts for the chosen GPU, i ended up at a price point of 60k which is the maximum i can afford to spend right now. Currency is Indian Rupee. Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Entertainment only. AAA-rated pc games at 1080p resolution (High or Very-High but not Ultra graphic settings) on a 43-inch 4k tv (60hz refresh rate) sitting at about 3 metres distance from the display screen on a couch. In future I might try VR-games/movies. More details: I want to upgrade my GPU. My current computer has : GTX 750ti, i5-650 and 1x8gb ram on a Intel chipset "H" motherboard for which power is supplied through a corsair vs450w 80+ psu. I know my current computer can technically support the GPU i have my eyes on, the "Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 Super OC 6G Graphics Card, 2X Windforce Fans, 6GB 192-bit GDDR6, Gv-N166SOC-6GD Video Card". But to avoid cpu bottlenecking (i dont want FPS drops/limitations in games), I have decided to buy a new processor, mobo, ram as listed here: Parts planned for purchase I dont really care for things like noiseless operation, power efficiency, etc. features that come with PSUs that are 80+Bronze (or higher) certified and i know my current psu, the corsair vs450W 80+ White can easily handle my rig even after i upgrade the said parts. However, i do see a Corsair vs650W 80+ bronze psu that is bundled with a very-similar (not exactly the same) corsair cabinet/case that i plan to buy (as listed above in pcpartpicker.com) at amazon.in I could afford it, but it would be reaaaaally stretching it in terms of budget, as i have already gone up from my originally planned budget of 30k to 60k, but it's indeed something i can afford if i wanted to but at the same time i know i dont really need the psu upgrade. Not unless under heavy load, my upgraded rig's power output reaches 450W or higher. (which is not possible i believe, but i am slightly concerned about it since the graphics card's suggested psu wattage is 450W, i tend to use PSUs that r slightly higher than the recommended specs to be on the safe side). I expect after the parts upgrade, my new rig's power output to be around 315W (this is with my other additional components installed, like a 1tb Western Digital Hard-Drive, mouse, keyboard and a 5.1 speakers....i literally have no other pc components that could very well possibly lead to a higher wattage consumption than around 315W ) My Question to the community is, should i get the 650W corsair power supply or is it not really something to worry about? I know having too low or too high psu wattage rating would lead to other issues but at the same time i also know that 450W to 650W PSUs shouldn't be an issue for this kinda build. Just to make it clear, as i said before, i dont care for features like noiseless operation, power efficiency, etc. but what i DO care about is that, under heavy load or very light load, my current psu should be able to supply the necessary power consistently to the whole computer. (Light load being when my computer is in sleep mode and heavy load being when i have been gaming on very-high 1080p graphic settings on a cpu/gpu intense AAA-rated game for over 6-hours straight. I know for a fact under normal load, which would be when i am browsing the internet, watching a movie, social-media, etc. my current psu is sufficient). Also, speaking of power, i tend to experience power fluctuations sometimes, (my home experiences Low voltage or high voltage because of which i use this UPS APC UPS ) and i know PSU has nothing to do with this, but i felt like it would be wise to point out that i use a UPS and why the usage of an UPS is necessary for clarity as this whole question is mainly about power supply.
