  1. Specs: Case: BeQuiet! Dark Base 700 Motherboard: MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk WIFI DDR5 CPU: Intel Core i7-14700KF GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 DDR5 6000mhz 32GB CPU-cooler: Cooler Master MasterLiquid PL240 Flux PSU: Corsair RM1000x 1000W Storage: Kingston KC3000 M.2 2280 NVMe SSD 2TB Some background information: I bought myself some new parts in December, connected it, and everything worked perfectly until one morning when I tried to turn my PC on. No reaction from the power button on my pc case. I checked inside the case, and there were RGB standby lights on my motherboard, this was a ASUS TUF GAMING B760-PLUS WIFI motherboard. I tried to jump the motherboard using a screwdriver on the two power pins. No luck. I then got a friend to come over with a leftover PSU and tried to connect everything up through that. No luck here either. So I called the company that sold me these parts. They told me that I could send the mobo in return, since it seemed like this was where the issue was located. I ordered myself a new mobo, this time a MSI Mag Z790 Tomahawk WIFI. In the meantime I had another PC that I could upgrade using the 3070 from my main PC while I waited for the new mobo. When I received the new mobo, it instantly turned on and everything felt good, and it seemed like everything was okay until I tried to launch CS2. The Problem: I have to explain the story, because I have no idea what is causing the issue. I had played a lot of Tarkov and Rocket League the day of changing the motherboard , and it worked like it should have in those games. But as I launched CS2, it immediately closed. I tried again and again, with different launch options, compatibility modes etc.. I tried to turn off XMP. I am by the way not running any overclocking on my CPU or GPU. Troubleshooting: I could not figure out what was causing this issue, so I decided to check with some benchmarks. I used HWMONITOR to check temps etc. First test I ran was userbenchmark (I know, it’s bad), this was really weird because the results said that CPU performance was N/A or unknown. I did a bench of the old system before it crashed and the CPU was getting good scores then, but now it did not register at all. Here are some screenshots from this test: After this I did a fresh windows installation and formatted the drive. Updated BIOS, checked every connection inside the computer. I could not connect to the internet with the fresh install, but I found a workaround to get inside windows without internet, so I could install the software from the USB I got in the mobo box. I reinstalled all drivers and did another test of CS2 and userbenchmark. Still no luck and got no results for the CPU. I then tried a Cinebench CPU benchmark multiple times. This just froze the program after 1-3 seconds. I tried this many times, but to no success. It seemed like in some tests the temps would go up and the clocks drop from around 5 to 1ghz. Tried to test the GPU as well, and that worked fine. I then experienced some issues with Rocket League suddenly closing. So I did some googling and I found out about a software called OCCT. I did a CPU test with the settings set to: Data set; Large, Mode; Normal, Load Type Variable. First time my results were the following, and resulted in a BSOD: After this I googled a little more to check what the results meant: 00:00:00 - Info - Test schedule started at 2024-02-17 22:14:12 00:00:00 - Info - CPU - Started (Duration : 01:00:00) 00:00:02 - Error - CPU - Test crashed It also said something about WHEA errors detected. Someone in a random thread said to check System Information, and windows error crash logs: This error reports faulting in a module with the name nvgpucomp64.dll. I then did another test and got BSOD again, but with another parameter. This one said DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Everything seems to be correctly seated and connected hardware wise. I took out my air cooler, took out the cpu, and checked the pins on the mobo, everything looked normal. I also checked the connections for the fan and the pump. Should be connected correctly. CPU power is connected with 2x 8 pin connectors. I have no idea what to do next. I have tried everything I can think of, and can’t seem to find any solution to the problem. Temps while playing Tarkov are around 50-60 Celsius. While browsing HWMONITOR reads the following: Is there anyone here that can help me with a solution, or help me pinpoint where the issue might be? I am sorry for the wall of text, but I feel like this is the only way to explain the situation.. My theories: -First mobo short circuted and fried the CPU since everything was fine until it happened? -Wrong timings on the CPU? -DOA?
  2. Perfect! Thank you so much. Thought I had to get to a store and get a new cable..
  3. From what it looks like in my case now my current card (1060 3gb) it uses a 6 pin + 2 pin. Does that work the same as an 8 pin or do I need a new cable? On the same power cable it has another 6 pin.
  4. So I can see that the gigabyte has 6-pins + 8-pins, does that mean I need to connect a 6 pin and a 8 pin or just a single 6 pin? Probably a really stupid question, but I am very new to this.
