Intel Optane on AMD base TrueNAS???
wingyiulam replied to wingyiulam's topic in Servers, NAS, and Home Lab
does it work on AMD based system? I tried an Intel SSDPEL1K100GA01 and an Adata SX8200 Pro on my system; there is no difference using any of them. -
Hi all, Does Intel Optane work as cache disk on an AMD base system TrueNAS? I can't tell there is any differences using an optane ssd vs a normal consumer ssd? it seems like the Optane SSD simply just works as a normal SSD instead of a caching feature enable SSD on AMD environment. spec Intel SSDPEL1K100GA01 AMD 3700x x570s Aorus Master Thanks, Wing

i see, I will give it a try. its a new build. i don't know if I should do sync write; the write performance is suffer whenever I set "sync to always".

Hi all, I am new to ZFS. My zpool doesn't saturate a 10gbe port, but ipref3 shows that the 10gbe has been saturated. Can you guys give me some advices? A single drive performance of ST16000NM001G in my server is about 100up & down with raidz2, and it's poorly performed. the sector on each drive has been converted to 4Kn. (The Data sheet stated that "SEQ R & W 261/249" IOPS "170/440" ) I also don't see any performance gain running an Optane SSD......all my equipments are connected to a UPS; I don't know if I need further protection. should I simply lose this expensive SSD and get a cheap 800p instead? Sequential read and write are only my concerned for my daily workflow. spec: Giagbyte x570s Aorus Master Kingston 32GB DDR4-3200 ECC UDIMM KSM32ED8/32ME AMD Ryzen 3700X LSI 9201-16i Intel X540-T2 10 x ST16000NM001G (4KN) running Raidz2 1 x INTEL SSDPEL1K100GA for SLOG No L2ARC (not planning to use it until i need it) Zpool Spec: ashift=12 compression=lz4 recordsize=1M xattr=sa dnodesize=auto atime=off sync=standard Jumbo frame is at 9000MTU ipref: 10gbe per sec Mac: 800mb write/ 750mb read Win: 450mb write/ 800mb read (the write speed in Windows is even worst) Thanks, Wing

I unplugged the front panel connectors, and set BIOS from 1 to 2 for BIOS_SW but no luck. -
Gigabyte x570 Aorus Master Rev1.1 bricked after 3 months of usage
wingyiulam replied to wingyiulam's topic in Troubleshooting
I pressed on the inner power button, push it doesn't do anything. I can't see the code because the PC doesn't even start up. it seems like there are quite a bit users having the same issue with x570 Series. -
Hi all, My PC works like a charm for 3 months, and it's dead all in sudden. it was a new build, all parts were 3 months old. PSU is hx850i and its in good condition, the red sign on the MOBO lights up if PSU is on. I tried replacing battery on the MOBO, but it doesn't do anything. Thank you! Thunderbolt adapter is in the last x4 slot, USB, Thunderbolt and 2 x 6 pins are all connected to the MOBO
-
the internal GPU is in Slot 1, but under the properties, it states it is in PCI Slot 8 (PCI Bus 80) <--- the internal card works tho the Core X 1080ti properties, its in PCI Slot 1 (PCI Bus 9)

it doesn't work in windows 10. Window found the razer core X as well as the graphic card, but the card get an error code 12 This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system. (Code 12)

I ran a ispci-v command and I don't see either the enclosure nor the GPU, but Titan Ridge was in the list. I tried the GPU on a mac, it works like a charm. My mobo doesn't have an open slot for a graphic card (a LSI Controller, a 10Gbe Adapter and a thunderbolt Adapter). The main goal of using an eGPU is that I can fire up a VM whenever I needed

Thank Jaslion! oh my gosh, How can I identify if a Mobo support egpu over thunderbolt? or is there any AM4 mobo that supports egpu over thunderbolt. I am opened switching to other brand of mobo as long as it works

Hello, I am trying to setup an eGPU for my server, Unraid doesn't see the eGPU at all (even rebooting the server). I tested the thunderbolt connection, it works flawlessly. Spec b550 Aorus Master Ryzen 3700X GC-Titan Ridge Razor Core X EVGA GTX 1080TI Pascal also tried Nvidia GTX 690 as well as GT120 Thanks Wing

Hi all, I wanna purchase an AM4 Motherboard that comes with Thunderbolt Capability (add-on card or simply built-in), and Ryzen 3700X will be used on this board. beside the Asrock X570M Pro 4 and Taichi, Is there any other available option in the market? Thanks, Wing

Hi Guy, I bought some ST16000NM001G through Amazon and I though they come with 5 years of warranty based on what is being written on the description. however, I did a seagate warranty check for my HDDs, they are all OEM drives (its rip off) NONE of them carry manufacturer warranty but possibly or maybe a seller warranty of 1 year? 1. Where to buy retail drive that honors manufacturer warranty? 2. The HDDs are in working condition but Should I trust OEM drive? 3. Hard drives are being used in a NAS 24/7, is warranty important? Thanks, Wing
