Curious Gamer

I currently have a 144hz 1080p. I do plan on upgrading my monitor. I have never streamed, I thought about dabbling with in the future. I honestly like my 1080, but as I stated to a diff reply, I’m currently in a position where I can afford an upgrade and I don’t want to feel like I missed out on something good. But it’s hard to tell without 3rd party reviews of the 6800. thank you for replying and welcoming me to the forums!

Realistically I plan on upgrading my monitor, I’m currently 1080p with 144hz, I thought about going with a 1440p 144hz. I really like my 1080, but it’s more about wanting to keep up and not having to worry about upgrading later down the line, especially since I know that right now I’m financially able to afford either. I think I really liked your points about Nvidas ray tracing and DLSS. They are features that I really want to try out once I get a better monitor. thank you for responding man! I appreciate it

I think this makes sense, it’s just with the shortage, I feel like I’m missing out on an opportunity to grab either of these cards, since we don’t even know when they will be readily available again (NVIDIA) also, thank you for taking the time I appreciate it!

Hey guys, I was curious what do people think about getting the 3070 vs the 6800? Especially for someone who games at 1080p. Do you think it’s worth it to make the upgrade from a 1080 to a 3070 or a 6800? I really like the 16 gbs of VRAM that come with the 6800 for about 80 dollars more, especially when compared to the 8gbs of the 3070. My only issue is I feel like if I don’t try for the 3070 on launch, ima gonna regret it if I can’t get a 6800 on launch as well. I feel like the demand for these new AMD gpus is going to be crazy.
