Whats the lowest i could go with a gpu and still be good for couple years?

No its fine right now just thinking for next gen when games get more demanding i wont cut it anymore. And 3070 sounds great but arent those stupid expensive. Was trying to stay cheaper like 300 or so.

So with next gen approaching, I have the dilemma of, do I upgrade my 1060 in order to run all the new next gen games that are going to be coming out or just get them on console. Since most games like cyberpunk are right around the corner when preordering I'm at a loss of what I want to play it on. I can just play it on my Xbox one x or upgrade my pc if I even need to. I have recently gotten a 27" 1440p 144hz monitor and would like to get the most out of it. I have also just upgraded my cpu to a 9th gen i7 and my ram is at 16 gig although its a little old its pretty fast. So if i were upgrade my GPU what should I upgrade to? Would like to keep running games in high and ultra settings but am also somewhat on a budget. Help please.
