  1. At home, actually not that long - maybe two months at most. I'm always tinkering. At work, I know we have a couple of servers pushing two years since last reboot...
  2. Those kits from XSPC comes with decent Laing pumps, it won't be a problem.
  3. You typically only see those on older servers, 4+ years old. Most don't have those as separate cards any more, most of that all being built into various power modules in the server itself and not on the motherboard. HP servers for instance have large power regulator modules that sit under the motherboard in say the ML series or in the PSU backplane on DL models.
  4. Will be wrapping up this week, get your votes in.
  5. Post your questions in the main section of the WC forum, not here.
  6. Yes they were, excellent quality and worked out well.
  7. No, these build's are no longer practical, for Folding at least, as they no longer have the BIGADV project. You could still fold on them, but GPU's net you a lot more points now. You could also run BOINC on a system like this.
  8. Uninstall, reboot. Re-install and do NOT setup the screen saver. Ton of problems. Then, don't set your computer to go to sleep, probably wrong term. You just set a basic screen saver to come after a say 5 minutes of inactivity.
  9. The update servers are one of the least critical I think in Stanford's mind, so they do go down often. Also, when switching teams, you need to complete on WU and then it can take another 24hrs for the initial update. When you switch teams, change your username, etc. points do not carry over either, which kind of sucks...
  10. Again, almost impossible to guesstimate. Really depends on the WU you get. Just install it and start Folding and see.
  11. Use something like HWmonitor and keep and eye on temps. As long as they are good and you have good airflow, you shouldn't have any issues.
  12. Oh man, that sucks... when you see the smoke rising from the computer, your heart just drops...
  13. Again, for Dark Theme users, Use the Fix! Sorry, I meant to lock this thread to start with.
  14. I am a computer engineer, computer geek, jack of all trades... I fix and work on computer networks and systems all day long. :)
  15. The Member Reviews section has additional guidelines from the Community Standards that members must follow when posting. These guidelines are subject to change without notice. General 1 - This section is NOT for sponsored or otherwise endorsed items/material. These reviews are by members for members on products they own/use and are their own, unbiased review of the product. They are not for product placement or advertising. In particular, you cannot review products that were sent to you by the manufacturer for free in return for a review. 2 - You are welcome to review pretty much anything, within reason, and it is not in violation of the Community Standards (don't review a gun for instance). 3 - The primary goal of your review is a written/photographic article of a product or service. If you want to include a video, please see the additional items below. 4 - The review should be yours with original content and not a copy/paste of marketing material, for the most part. Video Specific The posting of video reviews are allowed given the following additional items: 1 - The focus of the video is on reviewing a product or service. This requires original input. This is your video. 2 - The video is only to complement your complete, written review on the site. You cannot simply post a video. 3 - Subscribes or likes are mentioned a maximum of once throughout the video. Member reviews are not a chance for you to advertise your own channel. 4 - Video does not contain advertisement (similar to the style of LTT ads). Failure to comply with guidelines may result in your thread being locked or removed, along with the possibility of warning points being assigned. 16. First, have a signed contract detailing at a high level what you agree to do. Estimate the work required and quote an hourly rate. Then ask for a percentage to start, say 25%. Also detail what you don't do, extended maintenance, logo's etc., Though that CAN be done for an additional fee, etc. Been some other good suggestions here as well.
  17. Not really, I am folding on Win7, 8.1 and 10, all work fine. Linux and Ubuntu do CPU folding well, and some NVidia GPU folding, but mileage may vary.
  18. Weird one. I assume you are referring to the Advanced Control, and the progress bars on your slots? Might want to just try and uninstall and then re-install of the program after your next set of WU's complete.
  19. My one reminder to all regarding the best GPU for the buck. You can have the best card, but if you get a "bad" core, even a Titan can be brought to its knees. I always say for your dedicated rigs, pick a budget and get the best used card you can for the price. That will be your best bang for the buck. On the good cores, you do well, on the bad cores, well... you know...
  20. This is now locked. As per the CoC there are no discussions on hacking, even white hat, even when you "have permission".
  21. The location on the FAH client is always an issue with multiple GPU's. FAH randomly assigns the ID's. After a reboot, you might find it swapped back. As long as you know in FAH which is which, no worries.
  22. Are you talking about the fan screw spacing is 20mm? Most are now 15mm. I have not confirmed that on the Stryker, but I would assume that. The fan thickness though, for all standard fans is, 25mm. So, with 55mm of clearance and standard fan, you cannot have a rad that is more than 30mm thick. Probably want a bit less than this, just to be safe.
