  1. Changing it did improve a lot but the FPS dipp/freeze for 1 second still happens once in a while. This computer is a mystery. Could it be any kind of motherboard issue? I'm assuming GPU,CPU, Storage and PSU aren't the issue from all the testing it's been done.
  2. The dipps indeed happen when there's a lot of clutter happening or sudden particles. Loading also I believe. I just tested playing with on-board vga off for my second monitor and it was the same. Also went back to overclocking CPU and RAM and everything stayed the same as well. Will clear some space in the SSD and give it a try then.
  3. Another theory: could it be the HDD I have the games installed not being fast enough for everything that is going on the screen at the time of the dipps..? Because I mostly use my SSD for OS and things I need them to be fast. Everything else mostly goes to the HDD.
  4. I can try and look for one and see. I didn't format anything no. Simply changed everything to default, BIOS and all. No overclocks, no background small programs. Pretty much just running the game with Discord, Spotify and this page open. As we confirmed, the PC does run the game normally and gives good FPS.. Edit: added that screenshot, as you can see the FPS dip
  5. I'm using HDMI, don't think I have a display port cable around here. Also, my monitor does not have both, only 2xHDMI's and D-sub, so I wouldn't be able to test it.
  6. I have an ASUS VP278 (1920x1080 60Hz) No fancy gaming features, all normal and default.
  7. So I'm using all default settings in-game and I get way above 100fps but the stuttering still happens. Is it possible the 60Hz screen is the cause for this or something else? Because from what I can see, the GPU and CPU run the games as they're suppose with the settings they recommend. Edit: I also left BIOS in all default settings besides the on-board monitor setting which I enabled to use my second monitor.
  8. Will do. Just leaving graphics on high and nothing capped and see what happens. Also will try to reduce the number of programs that are running in the background. If I do still have those freezes, I'll format and have a clean sheet to slowly go testing and find the issue I guess. Thanks for the help so far bud! Really appreciate it.
  9. By "locking" I meant the maximum FPS the games reach. It can go bellow 60 of course but it won't go above it since I got no use for it. My bad for the wording.
  10. Everything up to date. GPU I always update when it comes out, same goes for windows. BIOS doesn't get an update in 2 years. I'll enable the Geforce Experience FPS counter and keep an eye on it. In my games, I normally force the FPS to 60, my monitor ain't that great: 1920x1080 60Hz. Also read somewhere that running GPU monitor and On-board VGA (which is what I've been doing forever) can sometimes bring issues into the table but I never assumed it was that since I played before just fine. It's really just weird cause I consider all my components to be good enough to run games well but sometimes it doesn't. If nothing works, I guess I can always format my SSD fresh and do the testing with heavy games and see how it behaves with nothing else.
  11. It definitely improved with nothing running for sure, or at least it felt more stable. You believe 8GB of ram with what I normally run is already low for a system to act normal or could be simply tasks on the background? Attached a new log with the new account if that helps in anything. I might do more tests later when I'm playing with friends and push it a bit more in the blank profile. testlogs.CSV
  12. Mostly when I play, I have Discord/Spotify in the background actively being used. Other than that, Razer Central/Steelseries Engine from what I can see. I can definitely do a new profile and check if the problem persists.
  13. It was hard to get the computer to freeze right now for some reason but I think it happened a couple times while running Path of Exile. Hope that helps logs.CSV
  14. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 19041) MSI Z170-A Pro (BIOS Version 1.K0 (as up-to-date as it can be I believe)) Intel Core i5 6600K (overclocked to 4.10 GHz) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 2x4GB G.SKILL Ripjaws V 2800MHz Cooler Master B600 ver.2 600W 80+ Standard Western Digital Blue 2TB 5400RPM 64MB Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB boot drive Recently I've been having constant frame drops and freezes in games I shouldn't even be having. Just 2 weeks ago I bought a new case, cleaned everything, changed thermal paste and transferred it but nothing changed. Temperatures are always reasonable and never over the top. I ran benchmarks for the whole pc and it says everything's performing better than the average of the same parts. Running games in my main monitor at 1920x1080, all drivers up to date. Don't know what else I can share to help find the issue here so I'll wait for replies. Thank you in advance!
