  1. I just installed a new AMD CPU fan (which included removing the CPU so i could clean the paste off) and when i turned the PC on my Gigabyte bios was reset. I was confused at first, Windows saying the pin code needs to be reset etc. But going into the bios it said it was reset. I set it up, XMP etc, everything seems to work. Just wondering why this happened? Are there any side affects i should know of? Thanks.
  2. Disabled CSM, enabled XMP (Are there any downsides to this? I don't usually overclock). Set boot order to go to my only drive first, instead of Windows Boot Manager. Seemed to of roughly halved the boot time. Thanks!
  3. I just built a new PC: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M DS3H Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory Storage: Crucial P2 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER 4 GB STRIX GAMING Video Card And it takes almost 40 seconds to turn on which I hear is pretty slow for an SSD etc. Here is a video, recording started when I hit the on button. https://photos.app.goo.gl/W8Ri1VhJHUUvaY1a8 Could there be a BIOS setting i have missed, like skip searching for partitions and go direct to windows etc Thanks.
  4. Hi, i tried with another PSU and can't turn anything on still. Not sure if the mobo is supposed to have a light on it or not. I tried plugging in the GPU and the light on it no longer lights. Could this be because the mobo is broken or does it mean mobo and the gpu are broken? I tried shorting the power wires incase there was an issue with the button. Could memory & m.2s be affected by this? Basically wondering what to repurchase.. Thanks.
  5. Yep, all the cables came with the PSU. I got it from amazon, i am returning it now but no option to get a replacement without just buying another one separately. --- Is there something i could have done to cause this? I don't want to plug a new PSU in and do the same thing again?
  6. PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M DS3H Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory Storage: Crucial P2 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER 4 GB STRIX GAMING Video Card Case: Fractal Design Define Mini C TG MicroATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair TXM Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply I finally put everything together, turned the PSU on and hit the power button for the first time and nothing happened at all, except an LED on the GPU. I thought the power button header might be in the wrong place so i took the GPU out and took the headers out, putting just the power button back in. Turned the PSU on again, causing a loud pop and some smoke. Afterwards i realised that i would have heard the fan on the PSU when i turned it on, so i guess it was broken from the start? Bit worried that it may have broken other components. On the PSU i plugged the two non-modular cables into the mobo and an 8pin cable from the PSU to the GPU 6pin. I presume this is correct? Advice? Thanks!
