For some time I've been looking at the HD 6XX, but I'm afraid they might be a headache to use in my current setup.
So first of all: I've never owned any AMP/DAC. I've seen some reviews but I'm totally unfamiliar with the available options, if there are different methods to pair them to the computers, etc.
My current desk only has a monitor and a pair of Logitech Sound MX speakers connected to it (3.5mm jack). When I am working I connect the monitor to the work laptop with a USB-C cable, which transfers the video, the sound and enables the USB ports from the monitor. For gaming I have a SFF PC in a nearby shelf that is connected to the monitor with a long boi DP cable, this transfers video and sound, but the monitor USB ports will not work (they do provide power, but no data transfer to the PC).
The cleanest would be to plug the headphones into the available headphone output from the speakers. This is handy and would make it work for all my use cases. But realistically speaking, I will want to experience the HD 6XX with an AMP/DAC at some point.
What would you recommend me to do in this situation? Are there AMP/DAC that I can connect to my monitor? Should I just wait until I completely change my setup?
