  1. Oh hey let me know if you ever find an analog (480i) hdmi to component. I understand it's a bit difficult since 99 percent of them just convert to digital component, but if you find one lmk.
  2. OMG thank god I am not the only one having issues with my display port to VGA adapter. It works most of the time, but sometimes it starts flickering like crazy or just stops working. It hasn't done this recently but I think part of it was that I had AC power cords near the VGA cable and it could have been causing some interference. After all it is a cheap adapter and VGA is analog.
  3. Plasma TV's are cool but last I saw one they just don't hold up in daytime lighting conditions
  4. One way I hook up my stuff to a CRT is either a homebrewed Wii and emulate older games on the wii (for true 240p) and I have a cheap VGA to composite adapter for my laptop to watch older 4:3 shows on my 20in CRT.
  5. Let us CRT users have a chance to show people that they can still hang with the cool kids! With their adjustable resolutions and refresh rates. You can choose how high or low you want the resolution along with what refresh rate can pair with that resolution. And lower resolutions actually scale properly. (Mine is set to 1080x1440 at 91hz right now).
  6. To 20GB 1333mhz or to 16gb 1600mhz, that is the question...

I am surviving similarly.  I’m not sure if ive got ivybridge or haswell. 4770k.  Lead chip.  Garbage OC.  Works great for 1080p so far.  Almost a year longer than I would have bet money on it going really.  I joined here because I figured it’s time had come.  Still kicken though. I may make it to 2021.  We’ll see what we see when the consoles finally drop their knickers and show the crowd.

A guy I know is upgrading his haswell i5, but he never had any reliability issues with it. Those 4th gen intel cpus, even with an OC can last a good while. From what I have heard once the CPU stops reading core temps properly, that's usually the warning sign that they're about to go.
