  1. Thanks again everyone! I am going through and editing my list (thanks for the call out about the monitor!), and I hope you all don't mind, but I still have a few hypothetical questions: I notice that you're adding options that are designed to save money and give me a good starting point with my build, which is definitely great; but if you were allowed to up the ante a little with your purchases to try and have as much fun with the money you've set aside, how would you build this computer? As nice as it is to keep costs low, the opportunity I have right now is something I've been waiting a long time for, and I don't want to be afraid to smartly indulge in places where it's totally possible. Where would it be suggested I be a bit more adventurous?
  2. Thanks so much for helping me out with this. I think the biggest reason why I chose that monitor is because literally anything would be better than my laptop screen, and I thought it would be a good starting point and possibly a good second monitor down the line. And it's on sale on Newegg right now and its the one thing I could order this weekend to get me started. I will look to see what else is on sale though. Side note, I did choose a lot of what I did because I'm looking for a white base colour theme, and want to incorporate expressive RGB elements. Its a bit shallow, but I figure I've been waiting a long time for this so I might as well treat myself in a completely arbitrary way. Are there any suggestions for compiling a better build with these elements in mind?
  3. Budget (including currency): $2,500 Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Adobe CS6, Assassin's Creed, Civilization VI Other: I'm a photographer who has never actually owned decent equipment to do my job effectively. (I'm eternally "making do.") I'm trying to start with a solid build with upgrade paths in mind, and would love to work towards my own NAS at some point down the line. -- So after years of watching every single LTT videos (twice) to study for the moment, I'm ready to start buying equipment and building my own computer. Here's my current "shopping list" and I'm really worried about compatibility. I'm also kind of debating as to whether or not I should wait for for the Ryzen 7 5800, but I've also been sitting on my plans for too long and just want to get started. Thanks!
