Long story short i play control-battlefield 5 online-battlefield 2042-CS 2-anno 1800 and im looking to play more story games like horizon forbidden west when they come out For reasons it take too long to explain i have a chance to upgrade my rx 5500xt to an rtx 2060 super the rest of my system is i5 10400f a cheap H410 MB 16GB of ram 480 watt 80+ bronze PSU honestly having RT and DLSS and dx12 ultimate alone is very nice itself but does the performance really worth the upgrade?

RX 6000 and 7000 series and Nvidia 3000 and 4000 series have a problem they would spike in power which can trigger old PSUs over current protection mechanism and cause them to shut down a good power supply from 1 to 2 years ago should solve this issue

yup it's dead -
the laptop already has an HDMI port he wants to do a one cable solution for LAN and USB and monitor at the same time without any performance hit

sorry i forgot to say welcome to one of the biggest tech forums on the planet

USB or universal serial bus is just a protocol Micro B and type A and type C and others are just interfaces if your laptop's USB port doesn't support display outputs then you are not going to get anything out of them because the protocol required for this action is not implemented sadly for a true 1 cable experience with no extra bulls**t, you need a Thunderbolt equipped laptop and an external Thunderbolt dock what you want is not possible here

Black screen after Nvidia driver install.

have you tried updating the motherboard bios to see if that makes a difference? -
it matters at lower loads but I chose Seasonic for both higher quality and reliability and also more efficiency

PSU is overkill in terms of wattage I would've chosen a lower wattage one with a higher efficiency if I wanted to drop the idle power draw even lower this one for example is expensive and has very high wattage but it is very reliable and its got a titanium rating https://pcpartpicker.com/product/yc38TW/seasonic-focus-plus-platinum-650w-80-platinum-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ssr-650px

well on idle those hard drives are not spinning so I say 10 to 20 watts at worst there is really nothing there to suck more power but your power supply inefficiency will almost certainly increase that
