  1. As the title states, the past 3 weeks or so, my render times have increased by a good amount in Premiere Pro and I have no idea why. The only thing I changed was installing an Elgato 4K60 PRO (PCIe 4.0 slot. 2nd slot on my Asus X570 Wifi Motherboard). Rendering a video in 1080/60 that was about 60 minutes in length, would take 30 minutes. Now something like that is taking closer to 45 minutes. What's stranger, is when I start the render the estimated time will say what's normal but then the time goes up AND as the % goes up, the estimate hovers around the same number for a while. I have about 24/30gb of RAM allocated to Premiere Pro. It's using both CPU and GPU to render. I don't get it. I even bought a new Cooler for my PC thinking it was a heating issue. Hopefully someone has some idea of what to do, I'm going crazy trying to figure it out. PC Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800x Cooler: Noctua D15 32GB RAM GPU: GTX 1060 6GB M.2 NVMe SSD 500GB for OS and programs Standard HDD for storage Motherboard: Asus Tuf Gaming x570 Wifi
  2. Well shoot, guess I didn't look hard enough LOL I think my issue was that, on Amazon there was a bunch that seemed to be the same. So is the EdgeRouter X the best option I guess for what I'm trying to do?
  3. So in simple terms for the noobs like me, with AMD processors these CPU temps could be causing my performance issue or no? Also, if I have a stock wraith prism, even if it's a thermal reapply, should I just get something like the Noctua D15? Would that give me the best performance possible out of my CPU? The problem is, everywhere I've searched some people say these temps are just for longevity, and others say it DOES impact performance. What I need most right now, is my Video Renders to not take an extra 5-10 minutes like before haha I need efficient performance. I haven't Overclocked it, even though it is capable of it. If I'm NOT OCing it, can better cooling still give it better and more efficient performance? Stupid question, what's PBO? Lol As for the GPU, DDU is a program or? haha Again, sorry I'm a noob with certain things. Not entirely with PCs, just certain things not familiar with. As for the Elgato, I've tried reinstalling all of that stuff, cause I've actually been having issues with my Elgato Recordings randomly freezing for a split second, despite great PC Specs. I've also noticed my Wallpaper keeps disappearing and going black randomly. I don't know if that's related to the booting up issues I'm having.
  4. Unfortunately, I can't find the EdgeRouter X in Canada. Do you know of any other solid non Wireless Routers that can support 1GB speeds? Hopefully something that doesn't break the bank even harder than I've already broken it LOL
  5. So then the Modem plugs into the WAN on the Edgerouter, and the Edgerouter plugs into the WAN on the Wireless Router?
  6. So by putting it into Access Point Mode, it would only handle the Wireless signal via being connected to the Edgerouter X with a single Ethernet Cable, correct? And if so, which port on the Access Point Router?
  7. So, are you saying go Modem to let's say the Edgerouter X, and from there into the Wireless Router upstairs for Wireless Signal, and also from the Edgerouter to any of my Ethernet devices? So basically 2 Routers and a Modem? And a Switch if I need more ports yet? haha So with Switch it'd be Modem | Edgerouter | | Switch Wireless Router | | | | Ethernet Devices
  8. So the way my setup is with our new Cable Internet, our Modem is in the basement with my PC and gaming consoles which all need to be hardwired. The Wireless Router is upstairs in the Living Room BUT, we have ONE Ethernet Cable running through the floor to the basement. I know ideally you'd run the Modem to the Router then the Router to everything else. That would require a 2nd Ethernet cable through my floor. So my question is, can I just get a Managed Switch and go Modem to the Switch, and then Switch to everything else? So Switch to Wireless Router for Wireless Internet, and also Switch to my PC and Gaming Consoles for a hardwired connection? Thanks in advance!
  9. So as the title suggests I have 3 different issues going on, all at once. Yay me haha Hope someone can provide valuable info for even just ANY of these issues. 1: I only recently started monitoring my CPU temps, cause I noticed my PC has suddenly become a bit slower the past couple weeks. I render a lot of videos for YouTube, and my Render times are slower than normal. For example: Before whatever the video length was, it'd take half that time to render it. 1 Hour video = about 35 mins to render for example. 40 min video = 20 min render. But now a 1 Hour video is taking closer to 45 mins to render. 40 min video closer to 30 and so on. I noticed my CPU Temp is hitting around 80-85c when rendering. Idle it usually sits around 55c, but I've seen it sit around 60c as well. My Specs can be found at the bottom of this post. I'm wondering if better cooling would bring my render times back down. I heard throttling only happens around 95c though, so if it isn't a temperature issue, I seriously have no idea what. The only thing I remember doing was updating Windows 10. In which I ended up rolling back the update. It is worth noting, I noticed in Task Manager that my CPU is running at about 4.10ghz (it fluctuates) in idle, but was around 3.98ghz when rendering. Base is 3.89ghz. 2: Video issue may not be a video issue, I just didn't know what to call it. But, when I boot up my PC lately (ironically same time as PC has become a bit slower), it'll be a black screen for a few seconds before letting me type in my Password. After typing in my Password, the Desktop goes black and my Taskbar starts flashing on and off for a few seconds, until my Desktop full shows up. I have no idea what happened. I did try installing an Elgato 4K60 PRO (PCIe 4.0 slot) around the same time, which I've also had issues with the gameplay recordings freezing for a split second here and there, but I've tried removing it and still had the issues. What I've tried so far: -Updated Windows 10 (then rolled back) -Checked PC for dust build up (just a light dusting nothing that would make you think it's the cause of the slow downs) -Updated chipset -Updated GPU Driver -Updated BIOS (which caused a CPU fan error for some reason, so I had to go to Monitor in BIOS and Ignore. Fan is running fine so I don't know why the error). If anyone has any ideas, please let me know, because I'm fresh out of ideas. Thanks in advance! SPECS: Ryzen 7 3800x (with stock cooler. Wraith Prism) Case: Deepcool Kendomen 32GB of RAM OS is running on a 500gb NVMe Samsung I also have 2 1TB HDD GPU is GTX 1060 6GB
  10. So as the title states, I'm in search of a great 1440p monitor that can do at least 120hz that has TRUE HDR. I want it primarily for PS5/Xbox Series X, but also plan to get an RTX 3080 at some point. I know a lot of people will say that you need HDMI 2.1 for 4K 120hz, but HDMI 2.0 will do 4K/60, 1440p/120, or 1080/240 just fine, which most PS5/Xbox Series X games will likely not hit 4K 120 anyways. SO, I was considering the LG 27GL850, but it seems to have a fake HDR that's not very good anyways. To me, HDR is more important than 4K, because it allows for deeper blacks, brighter whites, and just overall more vibrant colours. The only good monitor I can find that does true HDR (HDR 600 which is decent), is the LG 27GN950 which is also 4K. It's more expensive, and I will be playing at a Desk, so 1440p would be more practical at that size, but there doesn't seem to be a great 1440p with great HDR. I wouldn't necessarily mind getting the 4K one (although it would be nice to save money and get a more practical 1440p), but then there's the fact that I'm worried that the PS5/Xbox Series X won't allow 1440p, and will only be either 1080p or 4K. ALSO would 1080p or 1440p content upscaled to a 4K monitor look like crap? So all that said, does anyone know of a great 1440p monitor that can do 120hz at least has a MAX of 5ms, and has decent TRUE HDR? OR is my only option a 4K Monitor if I want decent HDR? Thanks in advance, Josh
